As unemployment is a big issue and most of our engineers are not getting suitable
placements. These are getting frustrated and getting into different crimes instead of
doing creative. These engineering graduates have lot of potential; they can do
better in other fields. Some of them may be industrialist, entrepreneur, some them
may be traders, some them may be Contractors, Builders etc. Only to do is guiding
them in proper directions with know how required in that field and to avail the
funds easily on easy terms. Many industrialist, traders, consultants, contractors and
builders may come out this worthless crowd of unemployed engineers. For
Boosting energy in engineering students A Seminar on “Financial Schemes of

Report on Workshop Power system Automation and SCADA
10 January 2017
Objective-The workshop was based on the applications of Power system Automationand SCADA (Supervisory
Control and Data Acquisition
Resource Persons
Department of Electrical Engineering, GIT conducted a workshop on Industrial Automation with technical
support by Vision World Tech Pvt. Limited on 10th of January 2017. The workshop was based on the
applications of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data
Acquisition). Mr. Shispal and Mr. Jayant explained the present scenario of the industrialization. He focused
over the demand of the various industries and differentiated between the work field of diploma students and
engineers. He shared his experience very well and also stated that the syllabi of Engineering which is more than
30 years old when there was just initialization of the automation in industries, but now everything has changed
and so the syllabi should also be based on the present scenario and as per the present demand of the industries.
ABB (Asia Brown Boveri) the France Company is the global leader in power and automation technologies
based in Zurich, Switzerland. It is one of the world's largest engineering multinational companies with
operations in around 100 countries. The company has five divisions: Power Products, Power Systems, Discrete
Automation & Motion, Low Voltage Products and Process Automation. DFE (Dongfang Electronics), the China
Company founded in 1957 and registered in 2009, has provided the intelligent automation control products and
solutions in terms of power generation, power transmission, power transformation, power distribution and power
utilization, and has made great achievements in the research and application of radio frequency identification (RFID)
technology.
Mr. Jitendra explained how the advantages of PLC dominated over the disadvantages of Microcontrollers in the
terms of numbers of inputs and outputs, memory, networking etc. He told that automation encompasses many
different products that are all used to allow companies to make their products faster and in a more efficient
manner. This allows the companies to make more products while spending less money, thus allowing them to
be Competitive in their marketplace. Industrial Automation is the industry of helping business to automate the
systems that produce their goods or services in the most efficient manner possible. He explained more about
automation by giving some examples that were automobile assembly line, parcel sorting system, batch brewing
system, amusement park ride, bottling lines. In automation the most important part is control system. He gave a
brief introduction on PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). PLCs look at states of Inputs. Based on these
states, the PLC makes decisions, and then commands output states. The instructions that tell the output devices
what to do base on the conditions returned by the input devices are written in programs that are stored and run
by the PLC.
The earliest automation systems were nothing but directly wired systems i.e. a control system where all the
components are designed and tested together and then sold as a complete system. You do not get many choices
for controllers, I/O, networks, and software. Eventually, PLCs were developed that could be programmed. This
allowed the engineers to easily create much more complex systems than relay panels allowed.
The programming for PLC was practiced by the students and working on SCADA software was also taught. At
last, the team informed about various courses offered by MERC such as GATE/PSU/IES coaching, Embedded
and Robotic Training, Industrial Panel Designing, Industrial Automation Training, PLC/SCADA etc.

Lean Model Canvas
Global Institute of Technology organized a one day work-shop on Lean Model Canvas for quickly formulate possible business models, product launches, campaigns in developing a business idea into a revenue generating entity.
The work-shop was organized on August 23, 2019. The work-shop was conceptualized by Start-up School Initiative taken by the institute.
Honorable CEO Mr Naman Kandoi, along with Principal Dr. I.C.Sharma,
inaugurated the work-shop in the presence of Dilnawaz Khan, A GIT Alumni, Ms.
Neha Katta. These renowned and promising entrepreneurs who have been
successfully running their Start-ups took initiative to join hands with the Institute
of promote Start-up Thinking among the budding engineers of the institute.
In this workshop they explained that Lean Canvas uses the same 9 blocks concept
except they’ve been modified slightly to suit the needs/ purposes/requirements of a
Lean Startup. The Lean Canvas is the perfect one-page format for brainstorming
possible business models; the blocks guide you through logical steps starting with your customer problems right through to your unfair advantage .These 9 blocks of
Lan Canvas are:
1. Problem
Each customer segment (CS) you are thinking to work with will have a set of problems that they need solving. In this box try listing the one to three high priority problems that you CS has. Without a problem to solve, you don’t have a product/service to offer.
2. Customer Segments
The problem and Customer Segments can be viewed as intrinsically connected. without a CS in mind you can’t think of their problems, and vice-versa.
3. Unique Value Proposition
In the middle of the canvas is the UVP. A value proposition is a promise of value to be delivered. It’s the primary reason a prospect should buy from you. A way to get your head around this is to think why are you different and why should your CS buy/invest time in this.
4. Solution
Finding a solution to the problem is the golden egg! You’re not going to get this right off the first bat — it’s OK, as that’s what Lean is all about.
5. Channels
Channels are ways for you to reach your CS. And remember that in the initial stages it’s important not to think about scale but to focus on learning. With that in mind try to think which channels will give you enough access to your CS at the same time give you enough learning. Channels can be email, social, CPC ads, blogs, articles, trade shows, radio & TV, webinars etc. and BTW you don’t have to be on all of them, just where your CS are.
6. Revenue Streams
How you price your business will depend on the type of model it is, however, it’s quite common for startups to lower their cost, even offer it for free to gain traction, however, this can pose a few problems. The key being it actually delays/avoids validation. Getting people to sign up for something for free is a lot different than asking them to pay. There is also the idea of perceived value.
7. Cost Structure
Here you should list all the operational costs for taking this business to market. How much will it cost to build / landing page? What is your burn rate — your total monthly running costs? How much will it cost to interview your customer segment? How much do market research papers cost? etc. You can then use these costs and potential revenue streams to calculate a rough break-even point.
8. Key Metrics
Every business, no matter what industry or size, will have some key metrics that are used to monitor performance. The best way to help with this is to visualize a funnel top down that flows from the large open top, through multiple stages to the narrow end.
9. Unfair Advantage
This is the most difficult to block to answer. However, do try to think about this as having an unfair advantage can help when it comes seeking partners & investors.
At the end of session Principal Dr. I.C. Sharma convey vot of thanks to speakers and attending participants.

of promote Start-up Thinking among the budding engineers of the institute.
Mr. Dilnawaz Khan explained about MVP that, MVP is a minimal form of your
product that is tested on the market. This development strategy allows your team to
validate (or invalidate) product assumptions and learn how your target users react
and experience your product’s core functionality. This approach will provide
insight into properly allocating your budget to satisfy your overall business
objectives. Building an MVP is an iterative process designed to identify user pain
points and determine the appropriate product functionality to address those needs
over time.
Workshop outline: Students’ will learn and practice building MVPs that
reduce waste, build a shared team understanding, and create a path for
successful innovation.

Workshop on Converting metals into powder ATOMISATION and
ELECTROLYSIS
Two days workshop on ‘Converting metals into powder atomisation and
electrolysis’ was held at Global Institute of Technology on 12-13 April, 2019. Mr.
Amit Dhawan, Asst. Manager at kandoi Metals, Jaipur gave an enlightening and
informative lecture on the process of powder atomization and electrolysis. He also
suggested increasing industry-Academic interface so that students can update
current technological knowledge.
He Explained that Copper is the most important metal for electric and electronic
applications, with a corresponding long and successful history of PM applications
involving both usage after consolidation process and of powder as such. The two
most important copper powder production routes – atomization and electrolysis –
allow, especially in the case of electrolytic reduction, a substantial control over
shape and granulometry of particles, through careful control of process parameters.
This translates into important differences in processing, dimensional and electrical
properties of sintered component with the same nominal composition. The present
work looks at the influence of copper powder features such as shape, particle size
distribution and specific surface on processing, dimensional, electrical and
densification properties of pure copper sintered components. The relationship
between powder and product properties is then discussed.
