In 2004, a project was launched in order to develop a unique membrane type CCS forLNG carrier by employing KOGAS(Korea Gas Corporation)’s membrane technology ap-plied to ground LNG storage tanks. After 10 years of research and development, KOGASand the three major shipbuilding companies in Korea successfully completed KC-1 sys-tem in 2014. The commercialization of KC-1 will be an oustanding model to offer uniquecompetitiveness and stability.

Moving Scaffolding System(MSS)

Longitudinal rail• Rail for movement along longitudinal direction• Rail guide fastened to the thick plate with bolts• The guide fixture is welded to the thick plate at the shop

Moving rail• It moves along the tank length through the longitudinal rail, and the membrane

carrier moves in the circumferential direction along the rail inside the truss• It consists of low chamfer rail, vertical rail, upper chamfer rail, and ceiling rail• They are separately fabricated in 2~3 stages to make installation easier and

assembled on site• Each moving rail can move individually

The technique for automatic systems has been constantly researched for improve-ments. By applying Moving Scaffolding System and automatic welding system, pro-ductivity could be increased and construction period could be reduced.
