Unpaid internships are available in these amazing cities, across three continents. We will be able to help you find a placement to suit your language level and career development goals.

We are offering 2 great programmes in beautiful Ireland; short term (up to 11 weeks) unpaid agri-internship or a long term (12 weeks +) paid agricultural internship.

These programmes provide a supported, cultural and educational experience but only current or future agricultural students are eligible to participate. If you need to undertake a vocational placement as part of your studies or if you are planning on studying agriculture then these are perfect to further your career.

You will be expected to work 40-45 hours per week. The placement could be on either a dairy or mixed farm, horse ranch, or in agro-tourism. There are also small animal, landscaping and gardening project opportunities available.

You will be given time off to explore but you will usually be placed on a working farm so be prepared for hard physical work.

Learn a new language and make new friends by working and living amongst Icelanders.

The programme offers paid internships from 8 weeks to 12 months in agriculture on the incredible island of Iceland. Internships can be on dairy, mixed, livestock, horse or gardening farms.

Located throughout Iceland, the farms can sometimes be up to an hour’s drive from the nearest town. Some of the placements operate as both a traditional farm and agri-tourism venture, so tasks can be varied and you may be asked to do household chores too. Work experience is a must (work experience in agriculture is a plus). The most popular dates are April to September.

The Netherlands is famous for its agriculture and world-leading production techniques, processing and infrastructure.

Placements are within all types of farming environments and can be undertaken from 6-12 weeks on an unpaid basis or from 13-52 weeks as a paid internship.

There are placements in the following sectors: dairy, arable, livestock farming, horticulture, mixed farm, field vegetable production, cheese making.

These are best suited to those with previous experience. You must be able to ride a bicycle at least 10km, in order to get around.

Live the dream and work and travel across Australia making friends, learning new skills and embracing Australian culture. This is an excellent programme with lots of benefits and you will be fully supported whilst in Oz.

You have the opportunity to get over your jetlag relaxing at a fantastic Youth Hostel for four days before moving on to a training ranch and then finally transferring to your chosen job. Work is varied and can be selected according to your requirements and experience.

Your working holiday visa will let you stay for up to a year so when you’ve worked hard and saved your cash for up to six months you can take off and see the stunning Australian outback and cities.

Programmes run throughout the year so the start date is very flexible.

There are some brilliant agricultural and horticultural programmes in various States across America suitable for agricultural students and workers. These programmes are designed to give you a structured and personalised learning experience that will enhance your cv and give you an edge in the labour market.

Landscaping and turf management internship 9-12 months (J1 Visa Programme) You must have: recently qualified in Crop Science, Agriculture, Landscape management or other relevant agricultural specialty or be a young person with a minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant field with evidence of all qualifications gained.

Agricultural Paid Internship 6-12 months (J1 Visa Programme) You must be: A student currently enrolled at a UK university, pursuing a relevant degree or having graduated no more than 12 months before the programme start date or a student currently enrolled at a higher education institution, pursuing a minimum level 5 professional certificate with additional field experience or a young person with a minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant field with evidence of all qualifications gained.

Agricultural Paid Training Programme 9-12 months (J1 Visa Programme) You need to be: A recent graduate with a minimum of a university degree or an equivalent professional certificate from a recognised academic institution and at least one year of related work experience or a young person with a minimum of 5 years practical experience in the fields of Crop Science, Agriculture, Landscape management or other area of agricultural specialty.

Farm & Ranch Stay 4-8 weeks (Visitor Visa Programme) Perfect for: people with minimal experience, this is an unpaid programme on a family horse/cattle/hobby ranch or dairy/crop farm, assisting with all activities. You will be immersed in the everyday running of a ranch and live as part of the family.

TEACHING PROGRAMMES

A fantastic12 week programme developed in conjunction with the Italian Ministry of Education to improve the language skills of its young people. You could be based in Piedmont or in other regions of Italy and will be working within a primary or secondary school as an unpaid teaching assistant.

Italian is not necessary as you are expected to assist the lessons in English to advance the levels of the children. You must be a graduate, preferably in an education field, but other sectors will be considered.
