What is Global Warming?
• Global warming is when the earth is getting real hot because of green house gases
![Page 3: Global warming](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022070420/56815ed1550346895dcd5f7f/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Cause of Global Warming
• Car emissions– Lots of Pollutants are in car emissions– Pollutants are in other transportation methods
![Page 4: Global warming](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022070420/56815ed1550346895dcd5f7f/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Cause of Global Warming
• Heating– It burns natural gas – Natural gas makes green house gas
![Page 5: Global warming](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022070420/56815ed1550346895dcd5f7f/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
What Can We Do To Make It Better?
• Car pool• Walk• Take the bus• Drive less

What Do Hurricanes Have to Do with Global Warming?
• Because global warming makes the water hot and when the Hurricane hits it gets more energy
![Page 7: Global warming](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022070420/56815ed1550346895dcd5f7f/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Hurricane Katrina • This is exactly what was happening on Earth on August 28,
2005. The city of New Orleans, Louisiana, was completely devastated and destroyed by the powerful winds of an enormous hurricane known as Hurricane Katrina. So what’s the story behind this hurricane?
• At first it was not strong enough to do any major damage or hurt many people.
![Page 8: Global warming](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022070420/56815ed1550346895dcd5f7f/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
What Happened After the Hurricane? • the Gulf of Mexico (from the light blue dots to the
red dots).• But when it reached the Gulf of Mexico, the water
was so warm and the air was windy and humid, so Hurricane Katrina gained a lot of strength. It turned into one of the strongest and deadliest hurricanes ever!! This is when it hit the city of New Orleans, causing terrible damage to people and the environment. People as well as animals died: Houses, schools and hospitals were destroyed, and flooding also occurred. In some cases, the water even filled up entire houses!! The results were catastrophic.

What is Recycling? • Recycling is helping earth• Recycling is reusing• The 3 R’s are: Reduce, reuse, recycle
![Page 10: Global warming](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022070420/56815ed1550346895dcd5f7f/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Why Should We Recycle?
-we should recycle to help the earth-to reuse stuff
![Page 11: Global warming](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022070420/56815ed1550346895dcd5f7f/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
How Do We Recycle?
• We recycle by reusing and giving
