Global Warming By: Jordan Beck and Jason

The melting of the glaciers on earth that then rises the ocean level because of the heating of the earth which is increasing more and more because of natural effects and human effects that are happening now.

Global warming effects the earth’s core temperature, weather, and the ocean levels.

Sea levels are currently on a pace to rise at a rate of approximately 1 inch every ten years.

Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit around the world since 1880.

What is Global Warming?

As you can see how quickly our glaciers are melting because of global warming…

Its from earth’s natural effects and human effects… Ever since the industrial revolution began we have

been making inventions like machines and engines and they both run on gasoline which are CFC’s and once they are burnt then they go up into the atmosphere and burn holes in the ozone layer which then lets more of the sun’s radiation pass to hit the surface of the earth

Aerosols like hairspray and air fresheners also burn away at the ozone layer

Currently in the world 40% of all CO2 emissions are caused by power plants and 33% of all the CO2 sent forth is the product of cars and trucks.

Why is Global Warming happening? ( Human Effects )

Everyone is blaming humans for global warming and their half right because there are also some natural reasons why we have global warming on earth…

Volcanic eruptions naturally happen and we can’t stop them. Once the volcano erupts it sends up ash, dust, and other chemicals from underground like sulfur, that then is absorbed in the atmosphere and can stay up there for more then ten years.

Ocean currents move the warm water towards the poles and moves the cool water at the poles towards the equator to try to equal out the oceans temperature all over earth.

Why is Global Warming happening? ( natural effects )

Solar activity has been a big worry because of it’s strong activity of solar flares and growing number of sun spots at one time.

Earth motions are effecting global warming because the earth is literally slowly wobbling and in a long time from now will be pointing at a whole new star unlike now since now its pointing at the north star (Polaris).

Most spots range in size from about 932 miles to around 31,068 miles in diameter and once in a while, huge sunspots the size of Jupiter show up on the Sun's surface.

Why is Global Warming happening? ( natural effects ) Cont.

Many people have many different theories about how the end result of global warming will turn out, like…

If cold enough, fresh water coming from the melting polar ice caps and the melting glaciers of Greenland flows into the northern Atlantic, it will shut down the Gulf Stream, which keeps Europe and northeastern North America warm. Which is the concern for a ice age like before with 2 to 3 years of it!

Category 4 and 5 hurricanes have risen in frequency from 20 to 35% over the last 30 years. Which leads into another theory that is predicted by NASA where because of the warming of the earth, severe weather like major tornadoes and hurricanes will become strangely common, leading to maximum destruction to our cities and highly populated places on earth.

What Might Global Warming bring!

With all the damage we have already done, we can still reduce, reuse, and recycle!

Like saving energy like making sure to turn off all lights and other energy using products when not in use, we could pull out plugs of energy using items that we don’t use very often, also we can switch to things like energy saving products such as energy saving light bulbs and kitchen equipment like dish washers.

Or just easy stuff to do like remembering to turn off the faucet or taking faster and shorter showers.

What can we do to prevent this from happening!?

Also to buy hybrid, electric, or hydrogen cell powered cars to replace gasoline powered cars that are one reason because of global warming.

If not able to buy this types of cars to replace gasoline powered cars then we can do things to save on our gasoline use, such as car pulling, walking or biking to our destinations (if close enough), or fitting more people into a vehicle so no more vehicles have to be in use to save on gasoline.

What can we do to prevent this from happening!? (Cont.)

Below you can see the increase of our use of petroleum over the last 15 years…
