To Do: Integrate official website with social network(s). Gives people a reason to follow because it is easy.
Increases traffic on website and social network(s).
Make the website "Social-Media-Friendly" – integrate "sharing" capabilities.
Connect Twitter/Facebook automated posting if less H.R. available to moderate both separately.
Multiple Admin – Someone to take over if the other is away.
Post consistently, but with significant time gaps to avoid subscribers from seeing it as "spamming".
Post interesting, relevant, and/or recent/breaking news, articles, videos, pictures, and websites.
“Pretty Pictures” and recent/breaking news get the most attention.
Plural posts – speak using “we” to present a team presence rather than a personal presence.
Connect with other groups – like related pages and tag them, they will reciprocate.
Expect greater interaction during “campaign” period and post/respond to posts accordingly.
Reach out to specific locations/groups – Ex. After Japanese Earthquake GaN observations continued to
come in from Japan. We recognized them and much Facebook user support was shown for them.
Respond to questions/comments promptly, thoroughly, and nicely.
Facebook Insights/Evaluation: Track Activity, i.e. “New Likes”, etc..
Page Activity – page views, picture views, post views, comments/wall posts, external referrers
