If willing to participate in the march, students will need to be at the Gloucester Soldiers Club at 10.20am on the day in full school uniform. This will be followed by the service at the memorial clock tower. Rod Maggs – Assistant Principal (Stage 3)

We won!
Boys’ Cricket Team Success Against Forster I can now officially retire… not that that will happen any time soon! I have had a running joke for a few years now that I am not going to retire until Gloucester beat Forster in the cricket. Well, now I can! We won! The boys were excited about heading to the coast to take on our old arch-enemy in Forster Public School. With ten years or more of losses against this much bigger school, they were all keen to chalk one up on the
Gloucester side of the tally chart. Sent in to bat, opener Andrew Fraser was dismissed early, but Sam Collie continued to bat patiently and keep the runs ticking over. Harvey Willis was excellent company for him as the boys managed to hold their wickets, picking up sundries on the scoreboard from a few wayward Forster bowlers. At drinks, the boys were running at about 4 runs an over, so were given the licence to get moving with wickets in hand. This proved to be tough, as Forster tightened up their bowling and with a few lost wickets, we managed to get through our 25 overs with 81 on the board. However, we were still confident in our team’s ability to defend this total with disciplined bowling and great fielding. And that is just what happened. Rhys Summerville, Jackson Moore, Harvey Willis and Nick Maggs set the platform before the break with incredibly tight bowling and little options for the opposition batsmen. Well supported by their mates in the field, Forster was just 2-12 after 13 overs. With frustrations setting in due to the pressure of increasing run rates required, the Forster boys had little option but to try and run for everything. Our boys responded with some sharp fielding and this resulted in a number of run outs. Forster was unable to chase down Gloucester’s 81, falling about 30-odd short. Once again, a great team performance, with all boys contributing to a team win. Well done, fellas! We now await the result of the game between Wirreanda PS and Bulahdelah CS to see who we face next. The game is likely to be scheduled for Week 1 next term. Rod Maggs – Cricket Coordinator
Canteen News
Orders have now closed for Hot Dog day on Thursday. Please do not send your child to school with an order on Thursday as they will miss out. Attached is the new canteen winter menu. It is full of delicious options such as Beef Nachos, Stuffed Baked Spuds as well as a large selection of freshly made sandwiches and wraps. Sure to warm you up when the cold weather decides to turn up! Copies are available from the canteen, on the school
website or at the front office. Canteen volunteers are always needed and very much appreciated. If you would like to help, please call in and see me at the canteen sometime. Thank you to our hard workers from term 1. Hope you all have a safe and happy Easter. Lisa Norrie Canteen Supervisor
SRC ANZAC Biscuit
Stall On Friday 3rd May (Week 1, Term 2), the SRC is holding an ANZAC biscuit stall. Students are encouraged to bake and bring in ANZAC biscuits for the stall. We would appreciate it if you follow this recipe or one similar to ensure there are no nuts added to biscuits. Biscuits are to be dropped in to Mrs Bosworth’s classroom on either Thursday 2nd or Friday 3rd May. Biscuits will then be packaged by the SRC into bags of 3 and sold for $1.00. They will be sold at recess and lunch. The money the SRC makes from the stall will go towards the SRC gift to the school at the end of the year. SRC Executive
