Windyknowe Home Learning Tasks Friday 30 th of April 2020 Friday Numeracy Task- 1.Prepare KABOOM Game. For this game, you will need to write 2 or 3 digit numbers on bits of paper. This could also be done on bottle caps, lolly pop sticks or stones. A few bits, maybe 5 write the word KABOOM instead of a number. See image below for ideas. 2. Play KABOOM- Level one (2 or more players) Put all number cards/ sticks face down so you can’t see them. Take turns to pick and read out loud the number, eg Picked up 109, Say ‘One hundred and nine’ Check children are not saying one hundred and ninety. If read number correctly can keep the card. ( You could maybe also link this with play money- eg getting 2p coin/ real or plastic for every correct answer- adults can decide on this one!) HOWEVER, if you pick up KABOOM all cards are put back- and the money if you have played this way. 3. Play KABOOM- The next levels If finding reading numbers easy, then the task is to add ten on to their number Eg picked up 81, would have to say ‘ninety one’ or 109, would say one hundred and ninety (this may be tricky for some). As you can see this game is adaptable .
