of blood vessels behind the retina
Case HistoryAn 8 year old male presented with H/O◦Diminished vision in right eye since 2 months.
On Examination RE :
Vision : No Perception of Light Moth Eaten Iris Non Reacting Pupil Anterior Capsular Changes, PSC +1, Exotropia
Posterior Segment Examination
Total Retinal Detachment with multiple shiny crystals over fundus.
• Multiple Fresh haemorrhages
• Solid Choroidal lesion
Ultrasonography
Hyperechoic Mass in posterior Vitreous
ConclusionCoats’ Disease is definitively identified
based on clinical assessment, ultrasonography, and laboratory tests
Preponderance to mimic clinical signs of retinoblastoma
Treatment of this disorder is based on the extent of disease at presentation.
Application of laser or surgery may be required to preserve vision in these patients
