GM10 – Main Unit and Modules Firmware Update

Summary of Steps to update GM-10 firmware.

1) Update firmware of the main unit. 2) Establish communication (between PC and the GM). 3) Update firmware of the modules.

(1) GM-10 Firmware Update.

Preparation ● Copy all the required files /folder to the root directory of the SD card. This

should consist of a folder named SYSTEM and (3) files, ndacSV_2_main.rom, ndacSV_boot.rom, and ndacSV_main.rom.

Insert the SD card ● Power on the GM while pressing START key. ● Once the procedure is completed, there will be disparity between firmware

of the main unit and the firmware of the modules and this will cause error. ● The following error message will be shown alternately in the GM. E5 , 59

This indicates completion of the procedure to update the main GM10 unit.

(2) Re-Establish communication with the GM-10.

Install IP address configuration software to PC.

Connect the PC and GM using LAN cable. Launch the IP address configuration software. Find GM in the network.

Assign appropriate IP address to the GM.

(3) Update firmware of the I/O modules.

Preparation ● Make sure that PC is communicating with the GM. ● Make sure the SD card (with update files) is inserted in the GM. Example (ex_r10201.iom or io_r10401.iom) ● Make sure that all the module configuration of the GM is correct.

(e.g. location of ex-communication module, dip switch setting of the ex-communication module)

● Power ON all the GM and its sub units.

Update procedure ● Launch web browser ● Type in IP address (e.g. http://192.168.1.1/ ) ● Select ‘Calib’ Tab and choose Update

● Press Next button (lower right of the window) and confirm with OK

● Mode Switching in progress message is displayed.

● Select ‘Module’ from Update Mode.


- 10 -


● Select NEXT in the bottom right corner and then Update.


- 11 -


● Updating (All modules) message will be displayed.

● When completed the Update Completed message will display.

● After completion , select END and apply reconfiguration (from ‘Calib’ tab)

● Select Exit current mode and OK.

● Repeat above procedure if Sub unit is used.

● Select Reconfiguration and all modules should display BLUE.
