interpAcK2014 At the very beginning, packaging consisted of plain containers or simple wrappings, such as paper,

to store, protect or transport goods and merchandise. Today, there are entire industry branches that

concern themselves with the packaging of very large to extremely small parts or things that people

around the world need on a daily basis. Every three years, state of the art technology as well as

progress in the science and research sectors are presented by companies in the industry in Düsseldorf

at Interpack, the leading trade show for the packaging industry and all of the methods, processes and

K 2013 – reVieW



2013 was shaped by two highlights that were important for the company: the company’s

50th anniversary “50 years Günter” and the participation at K 2013 in Düsseldorf, where

the polymer and rubber industry presented its new products and visions. For the 14th time

in a row, Günter demonstrated to the public that it is a qualitative, high-end and reliable

manufacturer of machines and units. The positive vibe at our stand and in the trade show

lounge was verified by the high acceptance we have gained with clients and the competition

over the past 50 years of Günter machines. We were expected at this trade show, or in other

words, it would have been noticeable if we hadn’t had been there. This was evident through

the customers who specifically sought out the experts at our stand to talk to them in order

to close a deal. These kinds of impulse purchases are a very special kind of recognition for

our services. The number of new clients, as well, present a positive business forecast when

reflecting on the trade show. Overall, K 2013 was a success and fun for all.

neW AGGreGAte for bottom-seAm bAGs And sAcKs,

one And tWo trAcK WeldinG sYstems

A new aggregate for bottom-seam bags with a square bottom is state of the art with its technological

and logistical advantages. Günter presents a solution for sacks and liners with a flat bottom that does

not involve the technology used for folding bags; these are virtually impossible to empty completely. The

core piece is a completely new developed angular welder aggregate in combination with an additional,

separately adjustable servo-drive shaft. The aggregate can be used either for one or two track systems

with widths of 1600 mm and 2100 mm. The final product is stored either flat or bundled in stacks.

With A WorKinG Width of up to 3000 mm

This variation of the new development of the angle welder aggregate with an additional, separately adjustable

servo-drive shaft for square bottom sacks, bags and liners has been designed for one track welding systems.

After welding, the final product can be stacked flat or bundled. An important feature of the equipment is the

particularly large working widths of up to 3000 mm and the large side gusset depth up to a max. of 600 mm in

length and width.

In contrast to the previously described equipment, this angle welder aggregate was developed

with an additional, separately adjustable servo-drive shaft in particular for end products that are

wound onto rolls after the welding procedure. Here too, the welding tracks are arranged at a

45 degree angle to one another. Material processing is done on a one track system. Depending on

the equipment, the side gusset depth can be adjusted in length and width to a max. of 600 mm.

The aggregate is offered for working widths of 1600 mm and 2000 mm.








With Welded side seAms

The one track system of square bottom welding with a side seam from half sleeves also has a

completely new developed angle welder aggregate at its disposal. In synergy with the additional,

separately adjustable servo-drive shaft, this aggregate solves the problem of folding bags in

regards to square bottom products with welded side seams that are manufactured from half

sleeves and wound onto rolls after welding. The side gusset depth is adjustable up to a maximum

of 250 mm, depending on the machinery.

outcome of our attendance at the Interpack trade show in May. This is an excellent opportunity

for our valued customers, who were unable to visit our stand in Düsseldorf, to get acquainted

mourninG for hAnnelore Günter

The wife and loyal business partner of the company’s founder, Hans-

Jürgen Günter, has passed away. Our employees have fond memories of

Hannelore Günter, who was an active shareholder and held a managerial

position in the company. She kept her husband’s ideals alive, campaigning

for the company’s growth with all her might and acting as both a propeller

and pillar on the way to the top. All of us here at Günter will honour the

memory of Hannelore Günter.

After the trade show is before the trade show, and that is why we are sending out the first

messages about plast 2015, which will take place in May of next year. Every three years, the

polymer and rubber industry meets at this global and high-ranking trade show. The plast trade

show has developed into the most eminent collection point for technological solutions as well

as into a meeting place for the industry to exchange knowledge. As mechanical engineers, we

determine the current state of the art technology in certain industries and it is our aim to build on

the great sales we experienced in 2012.

reseArch trends

Our developmental engineers use professional trade shows to discover new technology trends

and to implement practical ideas for our equipment. Two main factors are definitive: the polymer

to be processed and the jointing technology. Which film is to be made into bags, sacks, etc? How

thick should the film be? Which additives constitute what new technical features? These and

other questions influence the technical maxims. Günter is the market leader in creating high-

strength welded seams for different films and it is our objective to remain at the top.
