1 GO Team Mexico: Agua de Vida Orphanage February 26-28, 2016 Why GO? We GO to serve and help sustain Agua de Vida Orphanage – who are rescuing kids and raising them in the Lord. The Orphanage has limited staff resources and ministry teams bring much needed reprieve, encouragement and support to the Orphanage staff. Thus, as we go, we bring our servant’s heart with willingness to be flexible. We GO to help and sometimes this is in areas we might not want to. We’re to be considerate of others – showing grace, patience and understanding. We GO with the realization that things rarely go as planned. We GO because God has encouraged us to serve as He served us. Is the Agua de Vida (AdV) Orphanage Safe? AdV is run by Pastors Mario and Veronica Santos who live on site with their family – Mario is originally from the Upland area. AdV is in the city of Ciudad Morelos, 20-30 minutes from the US-Mexico border. AdV is completely fenced in and the gate is locked at night The border crossing (near Yuma, AZ) is a very small non-commercial border (not like the Tijuana border which is large, crowded, and busy) There is currently no US State Department Travel Advisory forbidding travel to Mexico. What Can We Do There? Small to Medium Work Projects. Currently the orphanage is trying to bring its facilities up to new code standards recently enforced by the Mexican Government on all orphanages. Serve the orphanage by doing daily tasks: cleaning, preparing meals, etc. Teach bible lessons (VBS style), crafts, hang out with the kids of Agua de Vida, etc. Help kids with their homework – math especially. What Does A “Typical” Trip Schedule Look Like? (But it is always subject to change) Fri, 3:30p: Meet at LBF for check-in and loading of vehicles
