Children use their understanding of place value that one note can represent many pounds, for example, a ten pound note could be 10 pound coins or 3 two pound coins and 4 one pound coins. Children also need to be aware that one note may be worth many times the value of another note.

LO: To read and write the prefix -un

Remind child about the prefix –un and that we use it when we want to describe something that it is not orthe opposite of something. E.g. if we want to say Zog was not happy, instead of writing ‘not happy’ or ‘sad’ we could use the prefix un then the word happy to form the new adjective unhappy.
