Databases allow you to store information for later use. This can be more than just numbers it can also be words. The numbers and/or words can be searched or filtered for special reports.

This is what the filter screen looks like in Microsoft Works. The filter allows you to see only the data you are looking for.
In each drop down menu are many choices the Field Names are listed in their dropdown menu. The Compare To box is where you type in the criteria you are comparing it to.
Each page of information in a database is called a record. Each record contains all of the fields just like the one before it. The fields will contain different information that you enter or type into it.

Multimedia – Story Board
A story board is sort of like a cartoon in the newspaper or a comic book. The author draws out the information that will be given, where it will be placed on the screen, location of graphics, special effects, and controls for the user. With out this a project can get out of control quickly.
Multimedia – Linear/Non-Linear
Linear order is where the user moves from one page to the next page never able to go back and look at information again.
Non-Linear order is where the user can jump around and choose where they learn next. Like this program.
Multimedia – Multiple Outcome Storyboard.
Whew! Like a regular storyboard you draw and plan events but allow different paths to happen based on user choice or score data that is calculated. Kind of like this program where you have choices in a menu and go away and return to the menu.
