Goal Setting Is Crucial For Time Management

Talking of the post-modern economy, we all are bound by constraints of time,

more than any other thing or commodity. With limited time at our disposal to work

with, some people seem to accomplish and achieve much more than others

around them. The question here arises is how do these people manage to

achieve much extra, within the same time period? The answer to this is proper

time structuring and time management, well coordinated and balanced with the

goals in life.

Not every individual looks at things with the same perspective. Every individual

has a different approach towards time. While some view it as a precious

resource and hence prioritize it according to their goals, both from the personal

as well a professional point of view, there are others who work at their own pace

as things come their way, without setting priorities for them to focus on. This

difference in approach and thinking makes all the difference in the world, which

ultimately reflects in their achievements in life.

Time management can thus be defined as an effective and inevitable tool which

enhances ones productivity and enables one to focus on the attainment of his

ultimate goals, which in turn determine his success, prosperity and well being.

Putting in the required effort, resources and time, by exploring habits, values and

beliefs with which we live, determine our productivity and heights of success in

life.

An adventurous approach, along with a spirit of enthusiasm and a proper

management of time can enable one to focus and concentrate on his ultimate

goals. Being oriented towards your end results can result in high performance,

strong vision and positive expectation of the future. To get the maximum benefit

out of limited time duration, it is very important to enhance productivity by

reducing stress levels, overcome procrastination by setting realistic and specific

goals and manage time through self-assessment.

Here, it would be mandatory to understand the correct meaning of time

management. Time management does not mean involving in multi-tasking by

cramming each day with too much of work load. The focus, instead, should be

doing the most important things first by identifying priorities and functioning

towards the ultimate goal without undertaking too much of stress.

Time management is an art which lets you function and work in proximity with

your success by setting your own personal comfort zone and not overdoing it,

which might otherwise lead to stress related illness or otherwise. Hence, we can

conclude by saying that time management goes hand in hand with goal setting.

They work in cognition for the ultimate benefit of both the individual as well as the

organization as a whole.
