GOALS OF SCIENCE TEACHINGScience teaching aims to help the learners;
1. develop scientific attitudes and values
Attitudes – ones frame of mind. It is an individual point of view.
POSITIVE ATTITUDES are those that describe their:
a. manner of thinkingb. ways of reactingc. ways of doing things

Values- morality and ethical standards.
The students develop the following qualities:

The best way to develop scientific attitudes and values is by
MODELLING.

Make children understand applications of basic scientific principles to solve problems related to daily life.
Develop the ability to apply appropriate concepts of science.

3. gain functional knowledge and information
Knowledge of science facts, concepts and generalization must be applied in real life.
They must be used in explaining why an event happen, in finding solutions to daily problems met and in arriving at concluding statements.
