Greetings Saints! As servants of the Most High God we are continually called to a state of REVIVAL and REFORMATION in preparation for the Second Advent of Christ. Acknowledging this truth, for the year 2016 we have embraced for our theme, NEARING HOME! Our theme “Nearing Home” suggests that we are within close proximity of our destination. The question is asked, where is our destination? Our destination is the celestial city promised to us by Jesus in John 14:1-3. The Second Advent has been the hope of the saints of all ages. Ellen G. White postulates, “In the last scenes of this earth's history war will rage. There will be pestilence, plague and famine. The waters of the deep will overflow their boundaries. Property and life will be destroyed by fire and flood. We should be preparing for the mansions that Christ has gone to prepare for them that love Him.” (Maranatha, p. 174) Signs constantly reminds us of the nearness and certainty of the Second Advent. Signs are existing in the national and political world, the social world, the natural world and the religious and spiritual world. G.W. Sederquist in 1902 penned, “The signs foretold in the sun and moon, in earth and sea and sky, aloud proclaim to all mankind, the coming of the Master draweth nigh. As we journey through this year there are four focus points to this noble theme:

As we are Nearing Home: we will give intentional focus to our SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND DEVOTIONAL LIFE. As we are Nearing Home: we will give intentional focus on RECLAIMING THE LOST, EVANGELISM AND CHURCH GROWTH. As we are Nearing Home: we will give intentional focus on YOUTH MENTORSHIP, LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT. As we are Nearing Home: we will give intentional focus on COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND COMMUNITY VISIBILITY.

As we navigate this year, a systematic approach has been developed for us to read through our Bible this year, following a daily Bible reading plan. Also, on Sunday nights we will be studying the book Christ Object Lessons as we explore the parables of Jesus and on Wednesday nights we will be study-ing the book, Communion with God. More than ever before, we are called to an unprecedented level of preparedness. It is my prayer that each of us will realize that we are Nearing Home; therefore, we will heed the counsel of the apostle Paul, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” (Romans 13:11) God Bless!
