God Floods the Earth (Genesis 7-8; 9:8-16)

God was sad the world was full of evil people and decided to wipe out all of the creatures He created. But Noah and his family would be safe in the ark.

God told Noah, “Put lots and lots of food for you and your family and for all the animals that will be on the boat with you.” Noah did just as God said.

God brought all the animals and birds into the big boat. Two by two, every animal went into the boat. Then Noah and his family went into the boat too.

Pretty soon, they began to hear the rain. God made the rain come, and the rivers and lakes overflowed. Every living thing drowned in the flood waters.

After 40 days and nights, the rain stopped. But the water covered all the land. Noah sent a raven out. The raven flew out but soon, returned to the boat.

One day, Noah sent a dove out and it came back with an olive branch. This meant the water was gone! Noah sent the dove out again, and it didn’t return.

Noah obeyed God and God took care of Noah from the great flood just like He promised.

God promised to never punish the world with flood again.

God also gives us many other promises and keeps all those promises. He will keep His promise of saving us from our sin through Jesus Christ.

The water had dried up and it was time to leave the boat. Noah opened the door and out came all the animals. Noah and his family were thankful to God.

Noah and his family made an altar to give thanks to God. Then God made a special promise, “I’ll never flood earth again, I’ll make a rainbow as a reminder to all.”

Noah’s Ark

Supplies: from craft packet delivered Noah’s Ark Poster, animal stickers.

God gave Noah the job to build the huge ark. It was the biggest boat ever and so it took a very very long time to build! But Noah trusted and obeyed God.

God also told Noah to gather each pair of all the animals into the ark. This must have been a very hard job to do! But Noah trusted and obeyed God even for this.

When God sent the flood to the world, Noah and his family were safe in the ark. When God gives us orders, let’s trust and obey God no matter how hard it is.

2. Two by Two, place the animal pairs into each room in Noah’s Ark.

1: Let’s decide which animal pairs we will place in Noah’s Ark.
