God Is Faithful
Nearly all of us have experienced the frustration that comes when people we depend on let us down. The wise man was correct: “Con-fidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint” (Proverbs 25:19).
In a day when it is becoming increasingly difficult to find someone you can count on, it is especially comforting and reassuring to be re-minded that God Is Faithful! There could not be a more pertinent, relevant convention theme.
This year, a capable slate of speakers will address topics related to this subject. These men have been faithful in their commitment to Christ and in their individual ministries.
They will explain that faithfulness is the essence of God’s character. They will remind us that God Is Faithful to His promises, faithful when we are tested, and faithful to those who are persecuted. We will rejoice together that God Is Faithful to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
God Is Faithful, and that message needs to be proclaimed outside the walls of the convention center. Free Will Baptists need to be ex-amples of faithfulness to God in their lives, homes, churches, and com-munities.
Thank you for joining us in Memphis as we celebrate God’s faith-fulness. May the words of the familiar refrain be our testimony as we meet:
Great is Thy faithfulness,Great is Thy faithfulness,
Morning by morning new mercies I see;All I have needed Thy hand hath provided,
Great is Thy faithfulness,Lord, unto me!
Keith Burden, CMPExecutive Secretary
