Preparing for Next Sunday 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

The first reading today reminds us that God will save those who fear him. Paul tells those who are unwilling to work that they should not eat. In the Gospel, Jesus explains that even in times of disaster, we are not to shrink back or despair. He will always be with us. Our perseverance will secure our lives.

Confirmation All Souls Day Luminarias Thank you to the OLMC community for your prayers and support of the All Souls Day luminarias. Congratulations to Margarita Guzman's 3rd Grade Faith Formation class for 100% participation in the luminarias contest. The students will receive a pizza party. Second Thursday Candidates Session The Second Thursday Candidates Session will be held on Thursday, November 14, 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Candidates should bring their Bible, notebook, and favorite pen. Second Thursday Parents Meeting Reminder that the Second Thursday Parents Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 14, at 8:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Information on the November/December schedule and Confirmation sponsors will be discussed. If the parents are not able to attend, an adult may represent in their absence. Please do not bring small children. Fall Clothing and Shoes Drive Fall is here. Instead of packing the summer clothes and shoes, consider donating them. Clear out your closets and storage of extra gently worn and clean clothes and shoes (extra need for jeans, shirts, socks). The Confirmation Peer Leaders will be collecting summer and fall items during the month of November. Items may be deposited in the green recycling bin located next to the bbq pit/soccer field. All donations benefit Open Door Ministries in Houston.

Los candidatos deben traer su Biblia, cuaderno y su bolígrafo favorito. Sesión de Segundo Jueves para Padres de Familia Recordatorio para la sesión de segundo Jueves para Padres de familia que se llevará a cabo el Jueves 14 de Noviembre a las 8:00 PM en el Salón Parroquial. La información sobre el programa de noviembre / diciembre y sobre los padrinos de confirmación será tratada en la reunión. Si los padres no pueden asistir, un adulto puede reemplazarlos. Por favor, no traer niños pequeños. Donación de Ropa y Zapatos en Otoño Otoño ya está aquí. En vez de empacar de nuevo la ropa y los zapatos de verano considere donarlos. Puede limpiar y organizar sus armarios sacando la ropa y los zapatos gastados pero limpios (necesidades principalmente pantalones vaqueros, camisas, y calcetines). Collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services

Today we support our family and friends who have served this nation with distinction. Faith Formation Fundraiser Lunch

Faith Formation will be selling Vietnamese lunch plates on Sunday, November 17 from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Plates include chicken, fried rice, egg roll and come with a drink and dessert for $7 a plate. Please support our Faith Formation program.

OLMC School News Scholastic Book Fair Success! Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School would like to thank all those parents, parishioners and friends who stopped by our Scholastic Book Fair in the school library earlier this month. Thanks to purchases made at our book fair, our school can now purchase over $2,000 in NEW books from Scholastic! This will be a great addition to our library collection and will permit our library to grow and meet the needs of our growing student population. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the next Book Fair! Steps for Students Steps for Students is an annual archdiocesan-wide event where all school and parish communities can come together as one to support Catholic education. The goal of Steps for Students is to raise awareness of the importance of a Catholic education and provide much needed resources for our Catholic Schools, including Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School. This day of family fun includes a 5k USA Track and Field Association sanctioned race, the David K. Guite Memorial 1k Family Fun Run, Catholic School Parade and Post Race Party. The race will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2013 and registration is now open! Please select Our Lady of Mt. Pasos por los Estudiantes

Pasos por los estudiantes es un evento anual a nivel arquidiocesano que se realiza en las comunidades escolares y parroquiales y que se unen para apoyar la educación católica. La meta de pasos por los estudiantes es crear conciencia de la importancia de una educación católica y proporcionar recursos necesarios para nuestras escuelas católicas, entre ellas la Escuela Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo. Este día de diversión familiar incluye una pista de EE.UU. para el grado 5k y Campo de carreras, Carrera Familiar de 1 kilómetro en conmemoración a David K., desfile de la escuela católica y fiesta de cierre de la carrera. La carrera tendrá lugar el Sábado, 15 de Febrero de 2014 y la inscripción ya está abierta! Por favor seleccione a la Escuela
