  • Yo Younger (Annette Raleigh): Yo was last seen in TWO ACROSS for California Desert Regional Theatre. Other CDRT credits include in SCOTLAND ROAD, LYSISTRATA, LAUNDRY AND BOURBON, and THIS ONE THING I DO. She also appeared in NIGHT OF THE IGUANA for Palm Canyon Theater and as VALLEY CONFIDENTIAL at McCallum Theater. In Los Angeles, she has been seen in THE EIGHT REINDEER MONOLOGUES and WIN, LOSE, DRAW” for The Attic Theater. She has completed two indie films titled CELL FISH and THE APPOINTMENT. She also produced and starred in the indie NEW HOPE, which was recently selected and screened at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival. Yo is delighted to be working with Desert Ensemble Theatre Company.

    Denise Strand (Veronica Novak): Denise is thrilled to be performing at the Annenberg Theater with such a stellar cast!     Kevun Willis (Props): A sophomore at Palm Springs High School, Kevin is a stage manager and lighting technician. He has always found it more fun working backstage than onstage and wishes to continue his work throughout high school.

    Yasmina Reza (Playwright): Reza is a French playwright, actress, novelist and screenwriter. In 1987, her play CONVERSATIONS AFTER A BURIAL won the Molière Award, the French equivalent of the Tony Award, for Best Author. Her second play, WINTER CROSSING, won the 1990 Molière Award for Best Fringe Production. In 1995, ART won the Molière Award for Best Author. Since then it has been produced worldwide and translated and performed in over 30 languages. In 2007, LE DIEU DU CARNAGE (God of Carnage) premiered in Zürich. It opened in London in March 2008, translated by Christopher Hampton. The production won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. The play then moved to Broadway where it won Best Play at the 2009 Tony Awards. Screenwriting credits include SEE YOU TOMORROW. Her first novel, Hammerklavier, was published in 1997.

  • Rob Hubler (Alan Raleigh): Rob is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Los Angeles stage credits include A WEEKEND NEAR MADISON, BEYOND THERAPY, BOYS LIFE, STAGS AND HENS. Pacific Shakespeare credits include AS YOU LIKE IT, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, COMEDY OF ERRORS. Local credits include PRIVATE LIVES, PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST, A FEW GOOD MEN, JOSEPH/DREAMCOAT, M*A*S*H, LONE STAR, NOISES OFF!, THE KING AND I, DAMN YANKEES, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, SORDID LIVES, and SHAKESPEARE’S R&J. Rob was a founding member of the sketch comedy troupe PRANK! performing at The Comedy Store, Los Angeles. TV/Film credits include “Sink or Swim,” “Pico de Gallo” and “Rose City Rocks,” as well as several commercials.

    Rosemary Mallett (Director): Theater teacher at Palm Springs High School from 1981-2008 directing over 80 plays and musicals. Her plays SKIN OF OUR TEETH, NOISES OFF, ABSURD PERSON SINGULAR and RUMORS received first place honors with Southern California Educational Theater Association. JABBERWOCKY, DINNEY AND THE WITCHES, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM and OUR TOWN received second place honors. DTL awarded her high school productions of WEST SIDE STORY and DIVINERS, Best Director and Overall Production. A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, A PIECE MF MY HEART received the Best Director awards. PCT production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS and Grove’s Cabin GRACE AND GLORIE won best director. She received the Joan Woodbury Mitchell Award from the DTL in 1994.

    Tony Padilla (Set Design, Co-Founding Artistic Director): As an actor at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, he appeared in OEDIPUS with Ellis Rabb and Ray Reinhardt, and ST. JOAN, both directed by William Ball, and in ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD and HADRIAN VII, both directed by Allen Fletcher. In Palm Springs, as co-founder and Artistic Director of the award winning Playwrights' Circle, he introduced and developed dozens of new works from playwrights around the world. Tony's play RECKONING is published in the college text, Three Genres by Stephen Minot, published by Prentice Hall. In 2008, his play, ENDANGERED SPECIES was translated and produced by Campagnia dell'Attimo in Rovereto, Italy, under the direction of Leonardo Franchini. In 2009, the play was part of the Schegge D'Autore Theatre Festival, in Rome, where it was awarded the International Award Medal. He is co-founder of the Desert Ensemble Theatre Company and a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.

    God of Carnage Eric Olson (Michael Novak, Co-Founding Artistic Director): An award-winning actor, director and writer, Eric has appeared on screen and stage throughout Southern California. He most recently directed A CHRISTMAS CAROL for DETC. Recent stage credits include: THE HAPPIEST DAYS OF YOUR LIFE (College of the Desert), MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (A Fluid Movement) and LEND ME A TENOR (Palm Desert Stage Company, also directed). Other select credits: BABY WITH THE BATHWATER, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, WAITING FOR GODOT, PRIVATE LIVES, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST. His play NOTHING LESS was recently adapted into a short film, in which he performed and his other works have been performed throughout the country. He has served as a director-in-residence and teaching artist with the McCallum Theatre Institute. The Desert Theatre League has recognized Eric with multiple awards, as well as both the Sidney Harmon (Service to Theatre) and Bill Groves (Original Writing) Awards. Eric is a graduate of UCLA and Columbia University. His two daughters (6 and 4) have not hit each other with bamboo sticks… yet.

    Savanna Holt (Props): Savanna Savanna Holt is a Freshman involved in the theatre program at Palm Springs High School. Also, an AFJROTC Cadet, she is currently in rehearsal with The Awareness Presentation Team (APT). Bitten by the acting bug early on, she landed lead roles in elementary school plays and performed in mime shows at convalescent homes. Savanna would like to thank Rosemary Mallett and David Catanzarite for this great opportunity and for sharing their own theatre experiences with her.

    Geovanny Pulido (Sound Design): Geovanny is a 16-year-old Junior at Palm Springs High School who has been interested in Theatre since 6th grade. As a freshman, he was introduced to technical theatre and is now the head of lighting design at his school. He wants to take his knowledge of technical theatre to the next level in the future, by using it in college.
