Stuff to Do With Your Crew!

Survival SkillsGod provided snow leopards with everything they need to survive in high, cold mountains. They’ve got snowshoes (or paws that are big and wide like snowshoes), a blanket (or a huge, furry tail that acts like one), and clothes that blend right in (so these big cats can catch dinner). What do you need to survive?

s Food Rub your tummy like you ate something yummy.

s Water Stop at the nearest drinking fountain for a quick break.

s Friends Bump knuckles with each person in your Crew.

s God’s love Hug your Crew Leader, and thank him or her for showing God’s love.

Winged WaitersToday you’ll hear about a time when God used birds to bring someone food. Sound crazy? It’s true! If you could have any animal bring food to you, would you want a…

TRAIL TALK

Cool QuestionsAsk Station Leaders, “What’s

something God provided for you

that you’re especially thankful for?”

…dolphin to deliver donuts?

…horse to haul hamburgers?

…porcupine to pack pickles? …turtle to transport tomatoes?

…crocodile to carry cookies? …baboon to bring bananas?…flamingo to fetch fruit?

If Klymer takes a bath, would he be

spot-less?

Where does Klymer buy his hiking gear?

What do snow leopards like best for lunch?

From a cat-alog.

Ice burgers.

Laugh it up!

We snow leopards can really jump!

Grown-up snow leopards can jump

more than 6 times the length of their

bodies. For a human kid, that might

be like jumping 24 feet! Give it a try.

How far can you jump?

Stuff to Do With Your Crew!

Marmot MetropolisMarmots are social—that means they like to hang out with other marmots. Marmot families live in the same “neighborhood,” to make a colony. If there’s plenty of food around, you might find as many as 30 families in one colony. That’s like New York City for marmots! If you could make a colony for your family, tell where you’d want to live and why.

Got Your Ears On?Today you’ll hear about a time when God spoke—and you may be surprised at what it sounded like! Sounds can make us feel happy, sad, excited, or even sleepy. What sounds make you happiest? What sound best describes your personality? Is it waves splashing on the beach? Chirping birds? People screaming with excitement on a roller coaster? Tell your Crew, and be sure to tell why!

s In a big city

s On a farm or ranch

s In the mountains

s Near the ocean

s On the moon

s Under the sea

s In an underground cave

s In a human-sized birdhouse in a tree

TRAIL TALK

Cool QuestionsAsk Station Leaders whose voice

they like to hear when they're sad.

Why doesn’t Cliff wear snow boots?

What does Cliff wear on his

paws when it’s cold outside?

What will Cliff be when he’s famous?

They melt!

Mar-mitts.

A star-mot.

Laugh it up!

Marmots “talk” to each other

with high-pitched squeaking

noises. (We sound a little like a

baby’s squeaky bath toy!)

Laugh it up!

Knock knock.

Who’s there?

Goose.Goose who?

Goose who’s knocking

at your door!

Stuff to Do With Your Crew!

One Tough Bird Bar-headed geese are tough! They can safely fly where it’s cold enough to instantly freeze exposed skin, where there’s not enough oxygen for kerosene to burn, and where it’s not safe for helicopters to fly!

If you could fly anywhere, where would you go? Who would you take with you? What would you do there?

Silly Seven

Today you’ll hear about a time God healed a man named Naaman…but only after Naaman did something seven times. That may not sound like much work, but in your Crew see if you can do these seven silly tasks.

s Say “The sixth sheik’s sixth sheep was sick” seven times, as quickly as possible.

s Pat your head and rub your tummy while you count to seven out loud.

s Do one push-up and one jumping jack. Repeat seven times.

s Make seven people smile.

s Join hands around another Climbing Crew and walk in a circle seven times.

s Hop on your right foot seven times, then your left foot seven times, then hop with both feet together seven more times.

s See if you can get seven people to waddle like geese with you.

TRAIL TALK

Cool QuestionAsk Station Leaders, "What way

do you prefer to travel: flying in

a plane, walking, riding a scooter,

riding a bike, or riding the train?"

What’s Mallory’s favorite thing to play on at the park?

What was Mallory’s favorite game when she was little?

The wing-set.

Duck, Duck, Goose!

Want to catch a bar-headed goose?

Better get a jet pack! We can fly more than

50 miles per hour…and that’s without any

help from the wind. When we get a good

tailwind behind us, we’re up to 100 miles

per hour! That’s faster than your parents

drive on the freeway!

Stuff to Do With Your Crew!

Odd EatsSmart people who study animals think that the name “markhor” came from the Persian words for “snake eater,” even though markhors really eat veggies. (We’ll stick to cheese and crackers, thank you very much.) What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? As a Crew, check out the list of ingredients below; then see how many of them you can use together to make a surprisingly spectacular snack!

TRAIL TALK

s chocolate chips

s grapefruit

s coconut

s cheese-flavored crackers

s red licorice

s grapes

s salsa

s popcorn

s crackers

s cream cheese

s pizza dough

s pretzels

Powerful Peeps Today you’ll hear about a time when Jesus showed his awesome, mighty, miraculous, huge, one-of-a-kind power. As your Crew treks through Everest, see if you can show the power of love in some of these mighty ways:

s Compliment a Station Leader.

s Pick up trash for the VBS Director or Mountaintop Treats Leader.

s Hug another Climbing Crew.

s Thank another Crew Leader for helping at Everest.

s Give high fives to as many people as you can.

Laugh it up!Knock knock.

Who’s there?

Goat.Goat who?

Goat to the door and find out!

Why does Pike wear a bell?

Because his horns don’t work!

Why is Pike a bad dancer?

Because he has two left feet.

Markhors are wild goats that

search for and eat food for

up to 12 hours a day! For you,

that would be like all during

school, then while you did

your homework, chores, and

got ready for bed.

Cool QuestionsAsk Station Leaders to tell you

the best vacation spot they’ve

ever visited.Pike

Heavenly Home Today you’ll hear about a promise Jesus made about a home that will never ever end. If you could live anywhere, where would you live? What would your house look like? What would you see when you looked out your bedroom window? Who would live next door? What would be right down the street?

Laugh it up!What color socks does Yeddy wear?

How does Yeddy keep his den cool in summer?

How does Yeddy send letters to his mom?

He doesn’t wear socks. He has bear feet!

He uses bear conditioning.

By bear mail, of course!

Glad you caught me awake. We

Himalayan brown bears hibernate for

nearly six months of the year. Hey,

it’s cold out there! What do you like

to do when it’s cold outside?
