CONNECTION ACTIVITY

ACTIVITY Encourage your child to help you gather a variety of transportation toys, such as cars, trucks and planes and put them in a box. Have your child close their eyes while you hide the toys in a room or a few rooms. Then have your child go find the hidden toys and drive or fly them back to the bin.

Talk about each car or truck as your child drives or flies it home. Describe the sounds they make, their color and size and whom they may be transporting.

For a fun twist, ask your child to be the one who hides the toys that you then go find.

ACTIVITY Encourage your child to get on the bus you two made today during Gathering Time and be a bus driver. Sing “The Wheels on the Bus” to the stuffed animals or other toys your child selects.

Child’s Choice

ACTIVITY Make three different buckets of varying toys. For example, bucket one can have blocks, baby dolls and a box. Bucket two can have people, cars and washcloths. Bucket three can have books, balls and animals. Be creative! Have your child choose one of the three buckets of toys. Put the other buckets up and offer the same choices the next day. Encourage your child to play with his or her bucket of toys independently. To keep your child’s interest all week, make the buckets only available during this time.
