Goddess Lakshmi Slokas
Goddess Lakshmi is the female counterpart of Lord Vishnu, the female energy of the SupremeBeing. She is the goddess of prosperity, wealth, purity, generosity, and the embodiment of
beauty, grace and charm. Lakshmi is depicted as a beautiful woman of golden complexion, withfour hands, sitting or standing on a full-bloomed lotus and holding a lotus bud, which stands for
beauty, purity and fertility. Her four hands represent the four ends of human life: dharma or
righteousness, kama or desires, artha or wealth, and moksha or liberation from the cycle of birth
and death.

Meaning: The front part of the hands (the finger tips) are ascribed to Goddess Lakshmi, theGoddess of wealth, the middle part (the palm proper) to Goddess Saraswati - the Goddess oflearning and the root (the part of hand near the wrist) to Govinda (God). Therefore, every
morning, one should have a respectful look at one's hand which symbolizes honest labor.

Meaning: I bow to auspicious Tulasi who is dear to Lord Vishnu, who brings good luck todevotees, who guides one to attain salvation, who showers all the wealth to the devotees.
