Low Maintenance Design

Due to their highly wear resistant link chains with maintenance free rollers that run on anti-friction ball bearings, these conveyors are ideally suited for long conveying tracks, large quantities of bulk materials, abrasive operating conditions and exposure to high temperatures (hot cement clinker or red-hot sintered iron).

The sophisticated bent profile of the overlapping pans on a Gössling steel pan conveyor provides for high carrying capacity over the entire pan width (due to a high section modulus against transverse bending) and for tight transitions from pan to pan. The steel pans overlap (similar to roof tiles) and have vertical side wings so that a labyrinth type seal closes the over lap. The curvature and deflection radius are adapted to one another to prevent transported material from leaking through the belt towards the rear, i.e. opposite to the conveying direction.

There is no contact between the steel pans while the belt is moving, therefore minimising pan wear. The point of transition from one pan to the next is on the underside of the overlapping part of the pans (it is not below the material being transported). Due to the geometry, no gap will open between the pans, both in the horizontal sections and at the points of deflection at each end of the conveyor.

Built for the Toughest Applications

Pan conveyors (Gössling system) are designed to transport large quantities of abrasive or hot bulk materials over long distances. They are used in:

◆coking plants◆blast furnace plants◆metallurgical plants and steel works facilities ◆ foundries◆cement, gypsum and other similar industries

Capacity and Design Features

Precise Operating System

The stability of the pan belting is not only affected by the load acting on the pans (resulting from the weight of the bulk material), but also by how the flux of force exerted by this load is guided to the rollers and chains. The steel pans are not fastened to the drive chains using angular link plates (which would be the conventional method), but the chain directly attaches to the side wings of the steel pans. The attachment of the steel pans is therefore located in the area of the chains.

Maintenance Free and Durable

The steel pans run over forged rollers incorporating hermetically sealed anti-friction ball bearings.

They are pulled by two chains, which are under neath the steel pans and thus protected against trickling bulk material. Their precise, articulated connections provide for an exact bending motion of the pan belting at the conveyor discharge head, which is the precondition for the belt tightness and thus results in a wear-free conveyor system.

Advantages at a glance

◆Gössling steel pan conveyors feature a sturdy design, high reliability and a long service life.

◆Due to the sophisticated design of the steel pan geometry, they are extremely wear resistant and thus very maintenance-friendly. Highly wear resistant drive chains and separate rollers running on anti-friction ball bearings guarantee low-noise operation and low power consumption.

◆The combination of horizontal and inclined track sections does not create any functional problems.

◆Even the toughest conditions such as heat (hot parts) or dust do not decrease the reliability,

durability or availability.◆Our steel pan conveyors are environment-friendly

and failure safe.
