Annual BanquetMHGRC has some exciting events coming up. Of course, there is the

Awards Banquet the last weekend in April which is always a fun day and an

opportunity to see each other clean and dressed all fancy! Ruthie Nordahl and

Sally Sjobeck once again undertook the organization of the event and Warren

Frizell and Jean Herbert will orchestrate the awards. Great job! Check the

various columns by MHGRC representatives to see what will be happening in

the next few months.

Chris Zink SeminarJune 29 & 30, Mile HI will be hosting Chris Zink DVM, PhD, DACVSMR

who will present her much-acclaimed 2-day seminar “Coaching the Canine

Athlete.” Although Chris has done seminars in Denver in the past, she is quite

excited about the changes and up-dates she is including for the first time in

Denver. Audience Response Technology will be incorporated throughout her

presentation enhancing effective instruction and engaging participants.

Mile Hi members were notified first about the CZ seminar with special rates

and preferential sign-up for working spots. The reduced rates still apply but you

are no longer guaranteed a working spot. The registration form appears on

“MHGRC.com.” If you have questions, either contact me or Claire Caro at

[email protected].”

Cheers Anne Shannon

By Keith WinchMHGRC  sponsored  an  AKC  Hunt  Test  Seminar  for  new  judges  and  handlers  this  past  weekend  (4/13).    We  had  17  people  in  aGendance  with  Wayne  Bleazard  from  AKC  puLng  on  the  seminar.    Thanks  to  Kathy  Frizell  for  helping  me  get  the  venue  reserved  and  set  up.    We  had  people  aGending  from  as  far  away  as  Greybull,  WY;  Rapid  City,  SD  and  as  close  as  almost  walking  distance.    We  had  a  good  interacTve  session  and  I  think  everyone  leV  learning  something  new.    Not  much  else  in  the  field  is  going  on  with  the  water  sTll  too  cold  to  get  our  teammates  into.  That  said,  hunt  test  are  starTng  in  our  area  with  the  first  one  being  Fort  Collins  Retriever  Club  May  3rd-‐5th.  That  doesn’t  give  us  much  Tme  if  you  have  stayed  in  CO  for  the  winter  and  early  spring.

Don’t  forget,  MHGRC  is  co-‐sponsoring  with  the  Flatcoat  Retrievers  a  WC/X  cerTficaTon  test  during  the  weekend  of  June  22nd  and  23rd  at  STllroven  Farm.    Please  let  Sandy  Wicker  know  if  you  are  able  to  step  up  and  help  her  for  this  event.

The  Frizell’s  stepped  up  and  will  chair  our  hunt  test  scheduled  for  September  7th-‐8th.    This  is  a  fun  event  for  our  field  enthusiast  and  is  a  great  Tme  to  learn  more  about  the  field  work.

This  report  doesn’t  have  any  accomplishments,  but  that  doesn’t  mean  we  don’t  have  anything  to  celebrate  as  just  being  with  four-‐legged  companions  is  noteworthy  so  please  send  me  something  for  our  next  Gold  Diggings.

When  emailing  me  your  brags  or  items  for  the  newsle4er  please  send  to  my  [email protected]  account  and  in  the  subject  line  state,  “Gold  diggings  newsle4er”.    I  travel  oBen  and  get  vast  amounts  of  diverse  emails.  I  do  not  want  to  miss  anyone’s  brag  so  you  can  help  me  by  honoring  this  request.
