ENS THOMAS A. GOLDEN
SUPPLY CORPS, U.S. NAVY
ASSISTANT SUPPLY OFFICER RESERVE COMPONENT
ENS Golden was born and raised in Middleborough, Massachusetts
and currently resides in Fort Mill, South Carolina. ENS Golden
graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of
Science in Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics and also
holds a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest
University. ENS Golden is employed as the Technology
Development Manager for Duke Energy in his civilian career.
In 1999, ENS Golden Enlisted in the United State Navy. He
attended boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois and completed Nuclear
Power School and Nuclear Power Prototype training in Goose Creek,
South Carolina and Ballston Spa, New York. ENS Golden spent the first two years following
training as a prototype training instructor at Nuclear Power Training Unit in Ballston Spa. He
earned the distinction of Master Training Specialist during this tour, and also served as the
Engine Room Supervisor during Naval Reactor Operational Reactors Safeguard Exam.
At the conclusion of the prototype tour, ENS Golden was transferred to the USS La Jolla, SSN-
701. While on board, He qualified to his senior in rate position and served in multiple roles
including Work Center Supervisor and Assistant Leading Petty Officer. ENS Golden completed
a Western Pacific Deployment while attached to the USS La Jolla and earned his silver dolphins.
ENS Golden completed his final active duty tour at the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Ballston
Spa, New York. During this tour He earned the designation of Engineering Watch Supervisor
and managed the Off Crew Training Mechanical Division. ENS Golden began his civilian career
with Duke Energy at the Catawba Nuclear Station in York, South Carolina.
ENS Golden received a direct commission into the Navy Reserve Supply Corps on October 2,
2014. He has been attached to the Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 202 since his
commissioning and recently completed Direct Commission Officer Indoctrination Course.
ENS Golden is Submarine Warfare Enlisted qualified and his personal awards include the
following: Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), Navy E Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Medal
(three awards), Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on
Terrorism Service Medal, Navy Sea Service Deployment Medal, Expert Rifle Medal, and Expert
Pistol Medal.
