“Golden section” from ancient times until today expresses the relationship between

mathematic and architecture. It is known as the“golden proportion , golden ration or divine proportion” . The golden section is a line segment divided

according to the golden ratio: The total length a + b is to the length of the longer

segment a as the length of a is to the length of the shorter segment b.

Golden section is not only a mathematical concept, but is a symbol of beauty, harmony and

perfection in art, science and nature. The term "golden section" was coined by Leonardo da Vinci as a

proportion of "perfect human body."

Golden section was known to the Egyptians and the Greeks in

antiquity. The notion of harmony and respect is in the basis of

philosophical ideas of Pythagoras. Egyptian pyramids and the

Parthenon are an example of the use of proportion " φ" in architecture.

The second capital of the First Bulgarian Kingdom is found on the

Ticha river, where at the time of Khan Omurtag where a palace and

and internal defense system.

The inner fort is situated almost in the middle of the city. It’s L-shaped, with round towers at the corners and square along the walls. This palace is impressive, with rich architecture, built of large stone blocks.

The Throne Hall has three compartments. Certainly most attention is deserved by the "Golden Church“. It is a brilliant monolith of ecclesiastical architecture of the “First

Bulgarian Kingdom” and a unique monument of Bulgarian architecture in

general.
