Where is golden snub-nosed monkey?The golden snub-nosed monkey is an old world monkey. The old world indicates the parts in the east such as Africa, Asia, and Europe. Mostly, the golden snub-nosed monkeys live in southwestern China, the north part of Vietnam, and Myanmar.

How is golden snub-nosed monkey like?- why are they called golden snub-nosed monkeys? They get their name from the short stumpy nose on their round face. The nostrils point forward and they have golden fur around their neck.They have long and multicolored fur on their shoulders and backs

Where is golden snub-nosed monkey's habitat?

They spend the majority of their live on the trees on the height of 4000-meter mountain forest. In the winter they move back to secluded region of the forest and the thick golden fur allows them to live in the icy winter. sometimes they hold each other to keep warm.

Social+vocal+ization...They live together in a large group which consists of up to 600 monkeys. There are smaller group called one-male unit (OMU) They have their own territory and protect it by shouting. Their vocalization sometimes solo and at other time, as if they are a choir singing in a concert.

I am hungry...Golden snub-nosed monkey are mostly herbivore. They eat lichens, other types of plants including trees, shrubs as well as insects. In the winter, there are not evergreen trees in such high mountain, so they eat tree bark in order to survive.

golden snub-nosed monkeys are endangered due to habitat loss. A large number of trees are being cut down, thus reducing the quality of the habitat and availability of food. Damage to its habitat seriously impacts the species’ ability to survive.

New Discover!There is a new species added to the family of golden snub-nosed monkey. This kind of new species is found in Myanmar. It has a funny name called the sneezing monkey. It has a very unusual nose , and the upturned nostrils filled with water when it is raining, causing monkey sneezing. There is a very small group of them, with 260 to 300 monkeys living by the Mekong and Salween Rivers.
