    TOUGHEST HOLE 09: 4 par 4, 471 yards:

    16 birdies, 187 pars, 105 bogeys, 8 double

    bogeys

    EASIEST HOLE 09: 2 par 5, 526 yards:

    6 eagles, 147 birdies, 148 pars, 14 bogeys,

    1 double bogey

    I dont

    know, its

    all rules.

    We set the rules.

    Its up to us.

    Maybe theyll

    bring it up anddo something.

    But how much is

    out of position? If

    we were two

    holes out of posi-

    tion, you know, surely

we should be on the clock. Its diffi-

cult in that situation. You know, youre

in the last group on a windy

day, its going to be tough to

    be within the time frame.

    PUTTING UP A NUMBER

clock on 16 and taking an eight on the hole

Arules official with an itchy stopwatch finger disrupted themost compelling duel of the 2009 PGATour season. He didnt disrupt Tiger Woods

march to history, though. Taking advantage ofPadraig Harringtons rushed triple bogey on thestern par-5 16th hole at Firestone, whereHarrington was informed by an official that he wason the clock, Woods earned his seventh BridgestoneInvitational win in 10 appearances, his 16th WorldGolf Championship victory in 30 tries and his 70thcareer win on Tour at age 33. But even Woodsseemed disappointed by the events at 16, where hisepic 8-iron to kick-in birdie range was almost overshadowed by Harringtons travails at the hands ofthe rough and the referee. Just like that, Tigers one-shot deficit became a three-shot lead, and 17 and

18 became leisurely strolls, and the walk up 18 yet another coronation.
