Where Could I Go?
“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,” - John6:68
“Where could I go, O where could I go, seeking a refuge for my soul?” These are the words of the hymn we have sung many times, written by J.B. Coats. Where could we go but to the Lord? The point is: where are you going? Most people are going nowhere fast, all because they are looking in the wrong direction. The disciples made a very astute observation; there is no one in this old world that can give us what we really need. We all need eternal life, a superior quality of life that results in a superior way of living. Even the most powerful, influential people in the world can’t give you true life; not here, and certainly not in the world to come. Only Christ has the wonderful words of life that we all need. He alone has the words of eternal life, be-cause He alone is the source of eternal life! His words are Spirit and they are life. They originate with the Spir-it of God and result in the everlasting life! Have you gone to Him for eternal life? Are you listing to His will? Are you reading His word and fol-lowing His path? Remember, He is the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, but by Him. Except we believe in Him, we will die in our sins. Let Him guide you by His word and by His Spirit. He will lead you in the paths of righteousness and bring about a refuge for your soul. NOW YOU’RE GOING SOME-WHERE!

Midweek Manna Wednesday Night Meals begin at 5:15 PM in the Fellowship Hall. The menu for Wednesday, April 13th is: Tacos, beans, rice, chips, Coca-Cola cake. Please sign the list if you plan to eat. Adults: $4, Children (ages 5-12): $2, (4 & under): Free
Ladies Luncheon Ladies, there will be a salad luncheon on Tuesday, April 19th, at the home of Sylvia Jones, 1605 Timo-thy. Come at 11:30 and we will plan to eat at noon. Bring your favorite salad or dessert and come enjoy the fellowship!
Prison Ministry In the month of March, 7 men at the Overton Unit and 46 men & 47 women at the MTC Unit accepted Christ in baptism. This brings the 2016 total prison baptisms to 241. Ladies, we need volunteers to help with the women’s prison baptisms. If you’d like to help, please add your name to the list in the foyer. The baptism dates are listed. For more information, con-tact Bob or Dee Brown.
Casserole Shower Thank you for your quick response in participating in a “Casserole Shower” for Chris & Meagan Cum-mings! This is to assist them with meals following the upcoming delivery of their twins!! Our goal is to have their freezer stocked on or before April 17th, before the twins arrive! If you have any questions or wish to participate, contact Debbie Zimmerman, 903-657-8643.
FOCUS Group The Cummings FOCUS Group will have a brown bag lunch meeting in the Red House TODAY at 12:30 PM.
Missions Reminder Contributions to South Main Missions can be made throughout the year by using one of the white enve-lopes located on the back of the pew. Mark your do-nation for “Missions” and place it in the contribution plate so that the funds can be added to the Missions account. Thank you for your continued support as we strive to support others in this great work.
The Family Life…
Needed for the Resource Room As you go through old magazines, please don’t throw them away! We need lots of new (old) maga-zines in our Resource Room. The children use them often for various craft projects. Also needed for the Resource Room, we will list an item each month that we are in constant need of sup-plying. We do have a budget for these resources, but, if you could toss a few of these items into your cart when you shop, it would free up some of our funds to put towards some newer, updated items for our chil-dren & teachers. Thank you for your help!!
Camp Scholarship Fundraiser If the cost of Summer camp is getting to your wallet, an opportunity is being planned to help offset some of that expense. A fish fry fund-raiser is being planned for Friday, April 15th. Those that help will be able to designate their share of the proceeds to help pay tuition at the camp of their choice. Anyone inter-ested, see Melissa Bryant, or, call her at 903-646-6282.

Doug Hopkins had bypass surgery on his leg Monday morning at ETMC - Tyler. He is now recu-perating at home. Joshua Sanders is now home after having some tests at ETMC - Tyler earlier this week. He is sched-uled to have further testing in Dallas on Monday. Noah Walton, 2 year old grandson of Steve Johnson, has been suffering with side effects from his chemo treat-ments.
