an area that is defined by certain similar characteristics. Those unifying or similar characteristics can be physical, natural, human, or cultural.

an area that is defined by everything in it

the act or process of conquering (to get or gain by force of arms)

In ancient times, the geographic area located between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. Present day Iraq.

Fertile Crescent

an ancient area of fertile soil and important rivers stretching in an arc from the Nile to the Tigris and Euphrates.

Tigris River

one of the two main rivers of Mesopotamia. The Tigris is the river to the east.

Euphrates River

one of the two main rivers of Mesopotamia. The Euphrates is the river to the west.
