Your task today is to write a 1st person recount of a night during 'The Blitz'.
Consider the following:
Who are you? Child? Parent? Pilot?
Where do you live? (Remember that the bombing went on for 57 consecutive days and nights!)
What has happened around you?
How do you feel? How do your family feel?
Who is with you?
Have you sheltered somewhere at home (e.g.Morrison/Anderson shelter) or in a group shelter (e.g. Tube station)?
Describe your worries and what the area round your house looks like.
Include highquality vocabulary, punctuation and extended sentences
Proofread your writing frequently to check it makes sense.
When you are finished, read your work to a family member or facetime a friend / relative and read it to them.

Choose one of these story starter ideas if you want to write your recount. 1 & 2 are written in the 3rd person, so make sure you change these to the 1st person when you write into your book. Or use your own ideas.
