Do you still want to achieve a gold star?
If the answer is yes, then look out for a gold star piece of work each day.
It means, if you complete that piece of work you can bring it into school (once we are all back of course) and get a gold star for completing it.
If you are really proud of a piece of work or want to show us what else you’ve been up to, please email it to us by taking a photo and attaching it to the email. We would really like to see what you’re doing. Look on the Year 4 class page of the school website to see more work that has been sent in by your classmates!
Use the next 30 minutes to read on Read Theory. Remember to read the text through carefully before answering any questions.

Spellings

Can you put some of your spellings into a sentence?
Can you google the definitions?
Can you find Synonyms for the weekly spellings?
English
Today’s task is all about apostrophes for possession and contraction.
Remember: apostrophes for possession show that something belongs to someone or something (the noun in the sentence).Apostrophes for contraction show that words have been contracted together. This means we can write them down as we say them e.g. Lola ate the cake she’d made.
Copy the following sentences into your book. Underline the words with apostrophes and write at the end whether it is an apostrophe for possession (P) or contraction (C)
1. Chris’s family come from Scotland. 2. Don’t put too much food in the fish tank!3. I’ll check that we’ve closed the classroom door.4. I think I’ll go to the park after school. 5. My class hasn’t done PE this week.6. My grandpa said that he’d meet me from school.7. On Mum’s birthday we made her a delicious cake.8. The farmer sheered the sheep’s wool during springtime.9. The plug on the hoover didn’t work so we had to change the fuse.10. The cook made the children’s dinners.
CHALLENGE!
Try writing some sentences with apostrophes of your own. Try to do 3 for possession and 3 for contraction.
