2 Good Neighbors Inc.2019 Annual Report

Throughout the fall, volunteers from the Longwood Rotarycompleted basic repairs on the home of the Moran brothersin Kennett Square. The Moran brothers are in their 80s andtheir home required extensive work. Youth camp volunteersstarted the project in July and the Rotary finished the repairs. The Longwood Rotary partners with Good Neighbors bymanaging and conducting basic repairs themselves, thusallowing Good Neighbors to focus on the most critical andurgent needs.

Jan lives in Oxford and spent several years working at a localchildren's hospital, but an injury that she sustained from a fallhas made it difficult for her to work. Recently, Jan discoveredthat her roof needed to be replaced. "I had no idea how Iwas going to pay for it because I live on a limited income, butGod brought Good Neighbors into my life just when I neededit." Jan's roof became a project for summer Youth Campvolunteers. Now Jan volunteers for Good Neighbors in herspare time by helping in the office.

Sara, a single mother of five who lives in Oxford now has ahealthier home after Good Neighbors replaced the carpetingin her home with laminate flooring. One of Sara’s childrenhas asthma and the carpeting was causing him to havesignificant breathing issues. But, these repairs did more thanjust make Sara’s home healthier. “I am proud of my housenow,” says Sara, “You gave me more than a floor, you liftedme up. You helped me but you made me feel good too.”

Good Neighbors celebrated its 20th yearof Summer Youth Camp with a recordnumber of attendees! 70 students workedhard throughout some of the hottestweeks of the summer and one teamcompleted two roof projects in just fivedays!

OUR MISSIONOur mission is to restore hope

and dignity to qualified low-incomehomeowners by repairing

their homes as an expressionof our love for Jesus Christ.

OUR VISIONOur vision is for all people

in our communities to have a warm, safe, dry and healthy home.

At the end of any major Good Neighbors' home repair, typicallywe hear our clients say the following:

Good Neighbors has been restoring hope for almost 30 years. There were 134 families in 2019 who experienced the love of Godthrough this ministry. Thousands of volunteer hours were logged bylocal folk who wanted to relieve suffering and restore dignity to thosewho could not keep up with critical home repairs.

We hope to touch 200 families in 2020.

Everyone can help in some way. From high schoolers to avolunteer that is well over 80 serve year-round. Please be encouragedand know that any of us can be a good neighbor. By the way, it feelsgreat to give ourselves away, which is exactly what the Bible teaches.

Let us commit to treasure-storing like this in 2020.

God bless you,

Harold Naylor, Jr.Executive Director
