The Summer Reading Program is an annual challenge to the entire community to read and be active. This
year’s “A Universe of Stories” program features events and activities for all ages that encourage people to read,
learn, play and visit the library all summer long. This year’s theme ties in to the 50th anniversary of the Apollo
moon landing. Together we can blast off and explore a whole new universe of stories!

“Let's Learn Together Outside”
The Pineville Library is honored to
have been awarded a grant by the
National Center for Families
Learning, “Let’s Learn Together
Outside.” The grant is designed to
promote family literacy through
learning together
outside. Erica Overbay is excited to
offer families more resources and
opportunities to learn new skills.
“We will have nature walks and
activities, while enjoying essential
family bonding time! We have
updated our patio with raised
garden beds, which will be used to
teach families about growing their
own herbs and foods.”
The program is every Monday in June (beginning
on the 3rd) from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Registration
is not required, but is encouraged so that enough
supplies and tools are on hand. For more information,

where folks were
able to share and
get a wide variety of healthy plants to enhance their
gardens. Stephanie and Piddle coordinated these events.
