Message from Monsignor René Mathieu: Happy Father’s Day!(1) We welcome summer visitors to our parish. We hope your visit is restful and enjoyable. We look forward every year to the participationof summertime visitors at our daily and weekend liturgies, and you are invited to join in other parish activities as well. (2) The annual Knightsof Columbus sponsored baby bottle drive ends this weekend. Whatbegan on Mother’s Day with the distribution of baby bottles concludes

this Sunday on Father’s Day. Returning those bottles with your donations enclosedin honor of mothers and fathers will help the local ALPHA Pregnancy Center toexpand to a larger location. (3) Summer Mass Schedule: Effective this coming Wednesday, June 20, and throughout the St. James School summer recess, the 8:30 am Wednesday Mass at St. James will give way to an 8:00 am Mass at St. Margaret inOld Orchard Beach. Next Sunday, June 24, we will add a Sunday morning 9:30 am Mass at St. Brendan in Biddeford Pool. That same Sunday, the two Sunday Masses at St. Margaret will be celebrated at 8:00 am and 9:30 am instead of 8:30 and 10:30 to avoid summertime traffic later in the morning. (4) Visiting missionaries will speak during all Masses next weekend at Most Holy Trinity and St. Margaret churches as part of an annual commitment of the diocese to directly support missionary activity (known as the Missionary Cooperation Plan). This year, two Medical Missionaries of Mary will visit us on behalf of their international congregation founded in 1937. About 340 sisters work in African countries as well as Brazil, Honduras, Europe and the USA. The sisters are engaged in numerous fields of health care and are also involved withempowering women through income generating projects. If you want your donation to the second collection recorded for tax purposes, place your gift in any blank envelope & mark your envelope number; make checks out to Good Shepherd Parish, with “MMM Missions” in the memo line. Missionaries from the same community will visit St. Joseph, St. Brendan and St. Philip on July 2122. (5) Vacation Bible School for children in grades PreK through 6th grade will begin on Monday, June 25 only one week away. It is important for parents to register as soon as possible so we may have enough materials on hand a week from now. (6) A possible “Joy in Action” for this week based on Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation on the joy of the family, Amorus Laetitiae: Write your dad a short letter, create a video, or draw a picture telling him what you love and respect about him. (7) Cool It! I find that St. Joseph Church inparticular can be very uncomfortable on the hot and humid days of summer, especially Saturday evenings. I remind everyone that both St. Philip in Lyman and Most Holy Trinity in Saco are air conditioned. (8) Thank You of the Week: To parishioners who worked so hard after the winter season to renew the beautiful gardens on the Most Holy Trinity Church grounds. Thank you!
