We went on our first class trip to learn all about our local area.
We created story maps all about our trip and practised the movements for them before
writing our own stories.
Our next topic was all about Celebrations!
We learned about Diwali and the celebrations which take place.
A box of party treats arrived for us and we wrote our own stories all about a birthday party which went wrong.
We then learned about the celebration of Christmas and the story of the nativity.
We created our own Diva lamps from clay to celebrate Diwali.
Our Reception children went on a trip to Chatsworth Farm Park and Adventure Playground.
We took part in some
Christmas crafts and played on
the adventure
playground.

We looked at lots of different fairy tales.
Some magic beans appeared in our classroom and we had to plant them and see what we thought might grow.
The next day a giant beanstalk had grown and we learned all about the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
Our reception children learned how to measure beanstalks using cubes
We created some amazing art work based around the story; some 3D beanstalk art and
some pictures of the giant in the style of Pablo Picasso
