Using Microsoft Translator Microsoft Translate API sign up instructions:

Step 1:

Subscribe to the Microsoft Translator 'dataset' in the Windows Azure Marketplace (requires a Windows Live ID to sign in) at:

https://datamarket.azure.com/dataset/1899a118-d202-492c-aa16-ba21c33c06cb

If you do not already have a Windows Live ID, you will need to sign up for one first.

Step 2:

Get your Client ID by clicking on the link below…

Step 3:

'Register an Application' by clicking the 'Register' button on the Windows Azure 'Developers' page: https://datamarket.azure.com/developer/applications/

Once you click Register you will see a new screen like the one below. Follow the steps as shown in the screenshot below and then register your application.

Step 4:

Once, you have followed the steps above you have all that you need to configure the Google Translate for Excel software.

Follow the steps below to configure the Addin with your keys…

Using Google Translator Google API sign up instructions:

Step 1:

Login to Google API Console by going to the link below…

https://code.google.com/apis/console/

You will be required to sign up with your Google ID. The click on “Enable an API”

Step 2:

Turn on the Translate API by browsing through the page. The API may be by default checked, clicking on the button will either turn of or off an API

Step 3:

Create a new Key…

Once you click the button. On the pop up window click on the Browser key…

In the next Window click on Create to create a Key…

And that’s it. Your key should be presented on the next screen like below…

Step 4:

Enable Billing. Now, before you can use the API key that you have created in the previous step. You will need to enable Billing in google API console.

Google charges you for this service at the rate of $20 per 1 M characters of text. The detailed information of Google’s pricing for Translation engine is available at the link below…

To enable the billing…

1. In the sidebar on the left, Click on “Billing & settings”. 2. Fill in the form.

(Note: you may use Bing API as well in case you do not want to be charged. Bing translate engine will give you Upto 2 Million Characters for Free per month)

Step 5

Copy and paste API in the settings window in the software in Excel as shown below.
