Small Schools Choir – EOI

Ms McEwen and Mrs Bertuzzi would like to know who would like to be part of the small schools choir. It would be a commitment to at-tend rehearsals and evening(s) performances. Our school is not participating this year as a

group but individual students are involved in

drama and choir groups.

Becoming an Agile Learner!

It is part of our vision to engage our students in becoming resilient

learners.

After discussing this poster, students identified that learning new

things requires a growth mindset and lots of quality practice.

These are some of the things our students chose as examples of what

they did to show resilience to learn something new.

Ethan – learning to skateboard

Jamilla – riding a scooter

Hayden – swimming

Fin – riding my pushbike

Nate – making paper planes

Ruby – swimming

Ari – playing handball

Gryff – riding a horse

Rory – using tools eg. An electric drill, hammers, saws and more…

Yuma – learning drumming techniques

Taj – writing great stories

Finley – steering the jeep

Maria – learning to high jump

Frankie– using a computer

Tara – to ride a long track on a bike

Lewi – hit a baseball

Liam – coding using lego wedo

The Rivers Secondary College Combined Schools Writing

Initiative-

Primary Schools Day #1

Taj and Rory joined twenty eight keen young writers from across the Northern

Rivers who made their way to Goonellabah District Office on Thursday 5th of

April to work with local writer, Zanni Louise. All brought their brilliant ideas and

creativity to work with the Byron Writers Festival StoryBoard program. Under the

shade of a beautiful old fig tree, each student started working on a piece of writ-

ing that may be published in an anthology of student work from across the re-

gion. It is a year-long program and we look forward to working with the same

students throughout the year!
