    Middle River Invites You to the 39th Annual Goose Festival

    September 27, 28 & 29, 2013

    The community of Middle River, MN announces its 39th Annual Goose Festival, to beheld September 27, 28, & 29, 2013. This years theme is Staging a Good Time inrecognition of the new outdoor stage built and sponsored by the Middle RiverCommunity Club.

    Friday, September 276:00AM Media Live Broadcasts begin at The Wheel Bar. The Senior Citizens lunch is at SpruceValley Community Center at noon open to all ages. The Senior Goose Walk and Art Projectwith school kids commences at 1:00pm at the Community Center, open to public. Beer Garden& Pork Sandwiches open at 3:00pm in the Sportsmens shed downtown. At 3:30pm, the 39th

    Annual Goose Festival Opening Ceremony is Center Stage on Main Street. At 4:30pm StageShenanigans begins on Main Street, bring a teammate. The American Legion Auxiliary Supperis from 4:30-7:30. From 5-7:00pm Agassiz Nature Bus Tour (FREE with Goose Fest button) sign up call Lynda 218-449-4115, x 202 or KayDell 218-222-3767. Friday Night Bingo starts at6:00pm in the American Legion Club. At 6:30pm on Center Stage is Middle Rivers Got Talent.At 7:00pm, Love Thy Neighbor by Gary Ray Stapp, will be performed at the Ye Olde DepotTheater. Enjoy 2 @ A Time Plus ? at the American Legion or Country Storm performing atThe Wheel; both venues 9:00pm-1:00am.

    Morning SATURDAY, September 28

    All day the GMR Art Club Booth with free arts & crafts for kids is located in the Border StateBank Parking lot. Also, all day is Party Time Amusement carnival games. The 11th AnnualGoose Walk is from 9:00-11:00am; registration begins at 8:30am at Steve Holmes Walking Path,by tennis courts. From 9:00am-6:00pm, the Craft and Flea market is located in the DavidsonBuilding and surrounding area to register call Gail at 222-3653 [email protected] coffee and a noon meal are hosted by Our Saviors Thief Lake Church, in theCommunity Center and from 9:00am-3:00pm. At 9:00am, bake sale at Community Center hostedby United Lutheran Church Women. Beer Garden & Pork Sandwiches opens again at 10:00am atThe Sportsmens shed. At 10:00am the Home Run Derby is at the school baseball field, contactShawn Wagner 218-686-0184. At 10:00am and again after the parade is Just Ducky Duck IDsponsored by Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge. At 11:00am are the bike races on the street infront of Royal Manor, hosted by Women of Today. Rentertainment Kids Games open at11:00am next to the Post Office. 11:30am on Main Street, live music by Northern Jazz.

    Afternoon/Evening SATURDAY September 28 at 12:30pm the Goose Festival Parade runsthrough town with Middle River Original Community Club pioneers as Grand Marshals - toregister a parade entry, please contact Tishara Melcher at 218-222-3928 (10am is line up behindthe school, judging is from 11-11:45am, please come early, best overall float wins $200 inMiddle River merchant bucks). Also, after the parade until 4pm the Antique Car & Tractor Showwill be held at Memorial Park next to water tower, register at show. Splash for Cash Tug of Warcompetition starts after the parade, age 16+, contact Mathew to register a team of 10 222-689-6288. From 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Ramblin Fever will be performing at the American Legion.

    100 Proof performs at The Wheel Bar from 2:00-6:00pm. At 1:45pm Youth Magician BradyGrove performs on Center Stage, live music by Lois & Lois. At 2:30pm, North Memorial AirAmbulance Service landing at school baseball field. The Pet Show Contest in on Main Streetstarting at 3:00, all animals on leash please! At 3:30pm, Women of Today and local businesseshost the Kiddie Quarter Scramble at the volleyball courts. At 3:50pm on Center Stage, PoetryContest winners and live music by True Colors. At 4:00pm, the Kiddie Pedal Pull starts in front

    of Fire Hall, vehicles provided must have parent or guardian signature; prizes for 1, 2 and 3 inall age groups free entry for kids; there is also an Adult Pedal Pull class, $5 entry.     Hot Dish Heaven book-signing at Youngs General Store. At 6:30pm Shyann Kaml,singer/songwriter will perform on Center Stage. At 7:00pm, Middle River Theatre performs,Love Thy Neighbor by Gary Ray Stapp, at the Ye Olde Depot Theatre.     SUNDAY, September 29 also provides a big day of activities. From 9:00-11:00am at the FireHall, there is a blood pressure clinic and open house sponsored by Middle River EMTs. From9:00-11:00am, in the Legion Hall, homemade pancake breakfast; free-will donation supports theLiving at Home/Block Nursing Program. At 10:00am is the Community Worship Service at theFirst Lutheran Church. At 10:00am NCHSC (North Country Horse & Saddle Club) will host aGame Day with Obstacle Course, for more information contact Shirley 218-686-4163. MuttonBustin begins at 1:00PM (Contact Sue at 218-686-5244); located at the Ornquist Arena; 1/4 milewest of MN Highway 32 on Marshall County Road 6.
