We were very fortunate at Gordon West that a noted arborist Mr Ian English tagged and implemented a very comprehensive tree management plan at Gordon West many years ago. Unfortunately we didn’t inform some of our younger members of the school community why the trees were being tagged and consequently a number of the tags were removed as part of a “treasure hunt” style acƟvity. On a beauƟful winter’s day the 2018 Gordon West AthleƟcs Carnival was very eciently organised and implemented with compeƟtors and spectators alike joining in the spirit of the day. It was wonderful to observe such a well run, well supported carnival with Kindergarten 2019 Enrolment Enrolments for 2019 are now being accepted. If you have a younger child due to start school in 2019 please complete an enrolment form (available from school office or website). All forms can then be lodged with the required identity documents at the school office so you can be added to our mailing lists for events relating to Kindy 2019 later this year.

everyone having a great me. Congratula ons to all successful athletes with special men on to Lachlan Herbert who broke five individual school records on the day which was a magnificent achievement. It is occasions such as these that make it a privilege to be associated with a school such as Gordon West. For those of you who saw our school featured in the Daily Telegraph and Channel 9 News on Saturday in rela on to the installa on of school security cameras I wish to advise you that in the words of President Donald Trump it was “fake news”. No such cameras have been installed and Gordon West does not have a bullying problem which was the main focus of the story. In fact one of the features of our school is how well our children get on with each other and the school has a zero tolerance for incidents of bullying.

The Gordon West FRASC invites the parents of Gordon West to join together on Saturday evening 11 August 2018 for their Casino Royale 7 Spectacular to be held in the Gordon West School Hall. All par cipants will receive free of charge Casino Fun Money on arrival and will have the opportunity to purchase addi onal Casino Fun Money as the evening progresses should they so desire. Our Gordon West FRASC is always prepared to try new ventures and we encourage the school parent community to support this very exci ng ini a ve. Given the proximity to the school vaca on FRASC has

limited me to adver se this event and seek your

assistance in promo ng the Casino Royale 7 within the

local community.
