FREE CHILDCARE
Working parents of 3 & 4 year olds
Reduce your childcare costs with up to 30 hours of free Childcare. Talk to your Early
Years Provider to find out how to claim or visit: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
Universal entitlement - All 3 & 4 year olds are entitled to up to 15 hours free
early education over 38 weeks (570 hours).
Extended entitlement - Working parents who meet the criteria could be entitled to an
extra 15 hours (570 hours) free early education for their 3 & 4 year olds. You can use
more than one childcare provider for your entitlement. Additional hours can be taken in
and out of term time.
Go onto www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to apply and if you are eligible you will get an
eligibility code. You will need to do this the term before you would like to use the addi-
tional hours. Take the eligibility code and speak to a childcare provider and they will be
able to tell you how they are offering the extended entitlement. Ask the childcare pro-
vider about any extra charges that may apply in addition to the free hours or services.
