Don’t Forget ItAt the start of 2015

Bishop Perry preached a messaged titled. “I’m Blessed!”

The message was to be a statement of faith spoken into the lives of every born again believer. Our blessing is not based on the material goods we obtained or even how great things around us appeared to be.

Instead, the fact that we are blessed is wholely connected to who we are in God through the purchasing power of the blood of Jesus Christ. Through redemption we have been grafted into the family of God and the covenant promises.

No matter what comes our way, no matter obstacles we find ourselves faced with, no matter how hard the fight, we can stand boldly on the promise that we are blessed through Jesus Christ.

It is in our weakness that we see His power, greatness, and the blessing of our salvation. Let us not forget that we are blessed!

GOT LIFETime To Get Excited AgainAs a kid I looked forward to

that special day...No, I’m not talking about my

birthday. I’m talking about Sunday mornings. Today that probably sounds absolutely crazy to some people.

But I’ve heard parents recently say how much their children look forward to going to church.

As a child there was something special about going to church. I couldn’t wait to quote my scriptures, hoping that I was the one who said it perfectly without any pauses. Or looking forward to singing in the choir with the other children.

As a teen, that enjoyment was still there. I even looked forward to the youth weekday service with the church Elder and his wife.

Church was a special place, and seldom did the thought cross my mind that I wish I could stay home sometimes.

So what happens to our excitement about gathering with other believers each week as we grow older?

I find myself puzzled by the idea that some people see gathering with the saints as a chore they wish they could by pass or rush for it to be over.

I often ask myself, and others too, how can some people thoughtlessly choose to deny themselves the opportunity to fellowship with their family?

How does attending weekly service become a bore?

I still get excited about Sundays. Some weeks I’m like a little kid wondering what is God going to do? What is it that God wants me to experience this week? And sometimes I just need tohangout with God and His family because it was one of those weeks.

I think many people have lost the ability to experience and enjoy the presence of God and the fellowship of His children.

However, I believe that that experience is the most healing and refreshing moment of our human life.

Think about it, the day of Pentecost was the greatest event of the New Covenant (Testament) church when God’s Spirit came in the midst of a group of Christ followers.

Every time we gather with other believers should be the highlight of our week. Why? Because it is a glimpse of what heaven will be like...a great big

HOW GREAT OF SALVATION

Bishop Brenda K. Perry,Sr. Pastor of NLTC

“God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Please take the time to pick up your Bible and read Ephesians 1:3-6, to see how He blessed us through Christ, before the foundation and predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ.

Our salvation is powerful and holy. It is not something to take lightly as though we are joining an association or club. A God that loved us sent His only Son that knew nor had no sin in Him. Yet, He willingly took upon Himself the sins of the world, past, presence and future into that holy body and buried them. The Apostle Paul in Roman 1:16b stated, “….for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believe.”

Here, in the United State of America, Christians today are being faced with greater challenges than yesterday. There is an all out war upon the believers of Jesus Christ, here in the States as well as around the world. The rise of evil and wickedness has come out of its

hidden place. Our Supreme Courts of the land are upholding that which is abomination unto God; they are condoning sin as if it was righteousness. Isaiah said it this way in 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.”

The spirit of murder and killing has released itself from the pit of hell. We have terror attacks from within United State and without. Our Christian Brothers and Sisters overseas, in various countries, are in danger for their life because they are believers and followers of Jesus Christ. We hear about the group “Isis” that is demonized in their thinking. They not only hate the U.S. but Christian and anybody that appose their belief.

I am deeply saddened by the news that just occurred in Charleston S.C. It is unimaginable that a person would come into God’s House, a place of worship, and kill nine lives. It was told they welcomed him with love and open arms. Where are we today? Where is the heart of the world today? Where the heart of the believer? The world is faced with fears, worry, doubt, unbelief, uncertainty, confusion, angry, hate, bitterness and the list can go on and on. The world has no answer; it has no hope for tomorrow to get better.

Along with the rise of evil, starvation around the world has risen. The climate and seasonal changes that are not predicable, wars and rumors of war, and lastly super power struggles with nations against nation seeing who is the superior nation of them all. This world cannot change; it will not change because it has not power to do so.

Mankind has discovered mega discoveries in technology, preserving life, curing disease, advancing in out of space. But when it comes to living together peacefully and lovingly as human being it’s a lost cause. Humanity left to it is a lost cause.

It may be that the Christians are living in one of the finest hours of all time. We need to awaken out of sleep, and see that the world is in darkness, and there is no light of hope for them to see without Jesus Christ. In the gospel of John, Jesus tells we Christians they will know us by our love one to another. It is time for us to lay aside our differences, hostility against those that are not of the same nationality, gender, social status. See that the devil has kept us divided long enough.

You can read in your Bible that when the Church was under persecution they came together and prayed. In the

midst you will see and hear that God’s power and glory was on display. We Christians have the formula for today’s world…. it’s Jesus Christ. Our hope is not in this world or its goodies. The satisfaction of a true believer is the hope that lies within us. Look up for your redemption draws near.

The Apostle Paul tells the Philippian Church, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say rejoice.” In the book of Philippians, Paul was in prison and many great and terrible things were happening to the saints. In the midst of suffering and turmoil we can rejoice, because we have so greater salvation. We are so rich and free because Jesus paid the price on Calvary. Salvation is unto all

mankind that believes in Jesus Christ who conquered death, hell and the grave. We have so greater salvation because we live to live again.

Let’s Play Jeopardy

Eld. Edna JohnsonOutreach Ministry Director

Let’s play “Jeopardy”. I will give you the answer. You give the question.

ANSWER: The physiological response to humor which consists of gestures and the production of a sound which our brain directs us to conduct simultaneously.

QUESTION: And your answer is? Well, I hope you said: What Is Laughter.

Ecclesiastes 3:4 tells us there is “A time to weep, and a time to laugh……”

In our busy, over-committed world, laughter seems to have been lost along the way. We don’t find much of it in our everyday lives. We have to choose to follow after it. As we age, it is so easy to get overwhelmed with the varied challenges we face, and we neglect the very thing that will help us deal with our issues and challenges.

Laughter has been associated with reduction of stress, anxiety and improvement to mood, self-esteem and coping skills. It has been stated that “If we couldn’t laugh we would all go insane.” Proverbs 17:22 says it this way, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” Physically, a smile requires the use of approximately 36 muscles, but a frown uses 97 muscles. A truly cheerful face radiates from a relaxed, joyful heart.

Now, with that said, sit back and get ready to LAUGH.

CreationAn atheist scientist came to

God and said, "We've figured out how to make a man without you."

God said, "OK, let me see you do it."

So the atheist bent down to the ground and scooped up a handful of dirt. But God stopped him and said, "Oh, no you don't. Get your own dirt!"

I Don't Want To Go To Church!

A mother went to wake her son for church one Sunday morning. When she knocked

on his door, he said, "I'm not going!"

"Why not?" asked his mother.

"I'll give you two good reasons," he said. "One, they don't like me. Two, I don't like them."

His mother replied, "I'll give you two good reasons why YOU WILL go to church. One, you're 47 years old. Two, you're the pastor!"

God’s OmnipotenceA Sunday school teacher

was asking her students some questions after a series of lessons on God's omnipotence. She asked, "Is there anything God can't do?" All was silent. Finally, one boy held up his hand. The teacher, on seeing this, was disappointed that they had missed the point of the lesson. She sighed and asked, "Well, what is it you think God can't do?" The boy replied, "He can't please everybody."

On that happy note……BE HAPPY.

Statement of Faith

We believe in one eternal God; infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose, as well as omniscient and omnipresent.

We believe this one true God, who revealed Himself as Father in Creation, as Son in redemption, and as Holy Ghost in regeneration.

We believe that - in Him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell.

We believe in the death, burial and resurrection.

We believe in being born again of water-by immersion in the name of the Lord “Jesus” Christ for the remission of sins, and in Spirit baptism of the Holy Ghost - speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

We believe in divine healing, communion and foot washing.

We believe in presenting our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.

We believe in expressions of praise with lifted hands, hand clapping, playing of musical instruments, voice of praise and dancing.

The purpose of New Life is to instill the faith of Jesus Christ into the lives of all people, bringing them into spiritual perfection with a spirit of excellence.
