Part 2 ONLINE
SHARING
Sometimes doing things on our own may be manageable…
But the power of working together has the ability to
transform
This is the second installment of a series called
Got Tech ?In this session, we will
investigate ways of sharing online
#2. Share
Essentially, there are 3 ways of sharing …
using resources from others,
contributing your work, and
collaborating on a project
Of course, there are many websites that you already visit regularly and borrow
‘stuff ’ from
As educators, we are forever searching for
resources that we can use in our classrooms today,
and there are many!
The site below is a list of several useful sites for
educatorshttp://www.boxoftricks.net/internet-resouces-for-education/
I have started a list of many useful mathematics sites
found at:https://sites.google.com/a/wecdsb.on.ca/math-matters/links
More importantly, the model of listing the name of a good
site, along with a short description, may be
the best way to start building your own catalogue
Consider joining a couple of online communities where educators share
their best practices
After our first session, hopefully you have
joined (and are following) a few Blogs?
There are also several good communities for sharing specifically for educators

Slideshare is the ultimate site for sharing presentations
(PowerPoint), and documents http://www.slideshare.net/
Edmodo is a free and secure social learning network for
teachers, students and schools. It provides a safe and easy way to
connect and collaborate, exchange ideas, share content, and access homework, grades and school
notices.http://www.edmodo.com/#
The goal of TeacherTube is to provide an online community for sharing
instructional videos. As well, it is a site where teachers can post videos
designed for students to view in order to learn a concept or skill.
