D BLOCK -‐ EDMODO – GETTING STARTED
1. Go to www.edmodo.com
2. Select “I’m a Student”
3. In the pop-‐up window, enter the group code and other information. Your username should be your first initial and last name (you may need to add numbers), your email should be your STJLabs email.

5. Read and sign the following Code of Conduct:
Edmodo Code of Conduct
• I will use one of the avatars included with Edmodo for my profile picture or use one that I have appropriate legal permission to use (i.e. in the public domain). My Profile picture will be appropriate and reflect the professional purpose of the Edmodo board.
• I will use posts to discuss school-‐related content only.
• I will use a respectful tone of voice when posting. All school rules and consequences related to harassment apply.
• I will use appropriate grammar instead of texting language.
• I will not use my posts to promote personal websites, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, etc.
• I will consider various ways my posts could be interpreted and limit my use of sarcasm to avoid misinterpretations.
• I will not reveal any personal information on Edmodo. This includes telephone numbers, addresses, emails, etc.
• I will not post photos or videos showing myself or classmates without permission. I understand that this is against school policy (and the law) and that the consequences for doing so are severe.

6. In the top right of the screen, find the “Me” tab. Go to “Profile”.
Complete the “Favorite Quote”, “How I Like to Learn”, and “Career Goal” sections. Be sure to consider the agreement you just signed. To edit sections, place the cursor over in the right corner of the section. A grey pencil should appear (edit icon); select it to choose a quotation, learning style, and career goal.
7. Also from the “Me” tab-‐-‐ go to “Settings” and upload a profile picture if you’d like (picture is optional). Be sure to consider the agreement you just signed. Profile pictures must be school appropriate. If in doubt, ask me.
