Paul Grover wins!Rob Stewart

Local fishing and tackle expert Paul Grover has now been certified a Local Legend after having his name drawn from another swag of Think Local, Buy Local, Be Local entries. Paul had shopped at IGA where he purchased a brand new mower, and after doing so he put his details on the back of his docket and promptly thought nothing more of it. So it was with great suprise when Churyl called Paul (who was having some down time in Darwin) to let him know that his champion shopping effort had catapulted him into legendary status! Paul not only displayed how to break the online habit, he also displays a well known habit for being the extremely helpful bloke behind the counter at Gove Tackle & Outdoors. It’s there where you’ll find him in his second element, his first being out on the water with a beverage and rod. The question remains...when is Paul going to find time to mow the lawn?

International Soccer Champ visits Gove FMEnglish world cup player Paul Parker pops in for a chat .Rob Stewart

Paul Parker is a retired English soccer ( “football” for the converted) player who played for Queens Park Rangers, Fullam and Manchester United. He was also a very useful player in England’s 1990 World Cup tilt where they made it as far as the Semis. Paul came to Nhulunbuy on Friday just gone to impart some highly regarded advice and experience to Gove’s Junior Soccer players as they once again packed the Hindle oval with frenetic activity and energy. Joining Paul was NT Football Federation’s Bill Kostandas and Daymon Port. Bill and Daymon were on hand to run the hugely successful Skills clinic on Saturday morning. Paul and Daymon were kind enough to pop into the studio at Gove FM on Friday afternoon to promote local soccer as well as give local listener’s a chance to learn more about what makes an International star tick.

CONGATULATIONS THALIA who was the first on the phone to correctly identify this week’s movie quote which was “Good morning Angels, Good morning Charlie.” Thalia who was most certainly not around when the original was first on air in 1976.But we’re guessing she may have seen the recent 2000 remake movie starring Drew Barrymore Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu.
