Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC

based on the quality parameters

To develop a system for the conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the

overall performance of the institution.

Making “Quality Enhancement” as an integral part of the institutional functioning -

Internalization and Institutionalization of quality enhancement initiatives.

To assure all the stakeholders the accountability of the institution for its own quality.

SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES

INAUGURATION OF SCIENCE ACTIVITIES

On 4-7-2013 the science association of our college was inaugurated by Sri Vishwanatha Pai HOD

of Computer Science, Department MGM College Udupi. Prof. Mahesh Rao presided over the

function. Sri Raviraj, Sri Basavraj, Sri Umesh Pai, Smt Sujatha Shet and Smt Vineetha Tantry

were present on the occasion

INAUGURATION OF STUDENT UNION OF 2013-14

The activities of the Student Nnion for the year 2013-14 was inaugurated on 23-08-2013 by Sri.

Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA Udupi. Prof.Thukaram Pujary was the guest speaker on the occasion.

Prof.Mahesh Rao was presided over the programme. Student Council advisors Sri Suresh Rai, Dr

Gopalkrishna Gaonkar, and student representatives were present on the occasion.

CELEBRATION OE WORLD POPULATION DAY

World Population Day was celebrated in our college on 20-07-2013. Sri Pramod Madhwaraj,

MLA of Udupi inaugurated the programme. Principal Yogananda was the president of the

programme. Nearly 100 students participated in the programme.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR FIRST YEAR UNDER GRADUATE STUDENTS

Orientation Programme was organized for first year under graduate students on 26-06-2013 at

AV Hall of our college. Sri Pramod Madwaraj, MLA Udupi inaugurated the programme. Principal

Peetha, Mangalore University was presided over the function. Sri. Prasad Rao, Dr. Gananatha

Shetty, and others were present on the occasion.

IQAC has initiated the steps to Self Analyze the status of MoU, Campus Placement, Teaching

Pedagogy, Skill Sets of the students by the way of exercising the following activities among the

1.It was resolved to reconstitute IQAC committee and include HOD’s of all departments as

committee members and include Mr. Dayananda Shetty and Prof.M.L. Samaga as external

members.

2.Discussion on the preparation of College Perspective Plan.

3.It was decided to hold a meeting on the 24th of every month to supervise the activities of the

college.

4. Discussion on Commissioner’s circular DCE/07/order/NAAC 2013-14 dated10-06-2013

syllabus.

6.As per instructions in the Commissioner’s circular “Academic Audit” committee was formed

with a view to improve the functioning of all the departments in the college. The members of

IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES

WORLD POPULATION DAY

World Population Day Programme was held in the college in collaboration with the District

Health Department on 23/07/2014 in association with IQAC and NSS of our college. The

Programme was inaugurated by the then District Minister of Udupi district Sri Vinay Kumar

Sorake. Dr. Nikethana and other dignatories were present on the occasion.

RELEASE OF COLLEGE MAGAZINE SUDARSHANA

The College magazine SUDARSHANA was released on June 26th,2015. Prominent Kannada

thinker Vaidehi released the magazine. She appreciated the talents of the budding authors and

encouraged them to continue writing articles. Dr. Nikethana, Prof. Manjunath and Prof Mahesh

Rao were present on the occasion.

DIALOGUE WITH KALEGOWDA NAGAVARA

A Special lecture was organized by Dept. of Kannada in association with Internal Quality

Assurance Cell on 12th August 2015. The title of the Programme was a “Dialogue with

Kalegowda Nagavara” Dr. Nikethana, Prof. Radhakrishna, Dr. Gopalkrishna Gaonker and Dr.

Jayaprakash Shetty were present on the occasion.

INAUGURATION OF COLLEGE GYMNASIUM

The inauguration of college gymnasium was held 8-9-2016. The gym was inaugurated by Sri

Abhayachandra Jain, Minister for Sports and Youth Empowerment. The other dignatories were

present on the dias were Pramod Madwaraj ,Vinaya Kumar Sorake, Physical Director

REMEMBERING THE ARCHITECT OF OUR CONSTITUTION

On August 27th,2015 a programme on Need for Ambedkar’s view for the youth and

society(Yuvajanathe mathu prajathantrakagi Ambedkar’s)was held in the A.V.Hall in the college.

The programme was organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell of our college in association

with Ambedkar Study Centre Bangalore. Nearly 78 students of both PG and UG were benefitted

from this programme.

Social Work were allotted Rs.1,000 each for conducting special seminar/workshop.

Rs.2,000 to be utilized for conducting a quiz competition for both P.G and U.G students with an

aim to enrich their general knowledge.

Rs.2,000alloted to Placement Cell for conducting special training and guidance to

students.

Books worth Rs.4,000 to be purchased to encourage reading habits.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

2015-2016

In pursuance of the National Action plan of NAAC for performance evaluation, assessment,

accreditation and quality up gradation of institutions of higher education, the IQAC was

established in the year 2006. As per the spirit of NAAC guidelines the IQAC has been striving for

internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement. It is working as a facilitative and

participative voluntary system of the college. The IQAC has set itself the objectives shown

below:

SPECIAL LECTURE PROGRAMME ON HUMAN RIGHTS

Special lecture on Human rights was organized by the Dept. of Political Science in

association with IQAC, NSS, Arts Association. Prof. Suresh Ekkar was the resource

person. Prof Balakrishna Hegde, Prof Manjunath, Dr. Gopalkrishna Gaonker, and Prof.

Basavaraj were present on the occasion.

COLLEGE DAY CELEBRATIONS 2015-16

The college day was inaugurated by Sri Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA Udupi. Prof. Surendra

Rao was the chief guest. Principal, and other CDC members were present on the

occasion.

FELICITATION OF RANK HOLDERS IN MA KANNADA

Prof. Dharma Prakash Director, Distance Education Department Mangalore University,

addressed the students.

INNOVATION CLUB

The Innovation Club was inaugurated on 17/11/2015 in association with Internal Quality

Assurance Cell. The principal Dr. Nikethana delivered the presidential address. The

inaugurator Prof. Manjunath Achari, Asst. Professor, Dept. Of Sociology, Lakshmi Soma

Bangera Govt.First Grade College, Kota Padukere addressed the students and told them

to take an active part not only in studies but also in extra-curricular activities. Students

of all the P.G departments attended the Programme. IQAC coordinator Dr. Gopalkrishna

Gaonker was present on the occasion.

SPECIAL LECTURE ON HOW TO START OWN BUSINESS

A Special Lecture on Innovation was organized on 26/04/2016 in association with IQAC.

The principal Prof.Balakrishna Hegde presided over the function. The resource person

Sri. Shiva Prasad K Project Manager in Manipal Digital Systems guided the students on

how Start Up businesses are done. He said that continuous thinking is required to get

feasible business ideas. The latest financial practices followed at present and how banks

conducted their activities before computers were introduced was told to the students.

IQAC coordinator Dr. Gopalkrishna Gaonker, Innovative club convener Mrs. Mavy

Miranda, Sri. T.G Bhat were present on the occasion. Principal Prof.Balakrishna Hegde

presided over the function.

A SPECIAL LECTURE PROGRAMME ON KANNADA LITERATURE

On 19/11/2015 a special lecture was organized by Kannada department in collaboration

with IQAC and Sumanasa Mangalore. Dr. Madhavi Bhandari, Principal Poornaprajna

Evening College Udupi inaugurated the function. Dr. Nikethana, Meti Mudiyappa and

others were present on the occasion.

A SPECIAL LECTURE PROGRAMME

On 30/11/2015 a special lecture was organized by Kannada department in association

with IQAC. Sri Manjappa D Goni was the resource person. Dr. Nikethana and others seen

on the Dias.

MARTYR'S DAY REMEMBERING THOSE WHO SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES FOR THE

NATION.

Martyrs day was observed on 30th January, 2016 in association with IQAC. Principal

Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Prof. Mahesh Rao, Dr. Gopalkrishna Gaonker, T.G Bhat were

present on the Dias.

A SPECIAL PROGRAMME BY WOMEN ANTI-HARASSMENT CELLSpecial lecture was

organized by Women’s Cell in association with IQAC and Inner Wheel Udupi on 8/3/16.

Smt. Rajeshwari was spoke on the occasion. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde presided

over the Programme. Dr. Nikethana and others were present on the occasion.

PROGRAMME ON THE AWARENESS OF THE ILL-EFFECTS OF TECHNOLOGY

On 11/02/2016 a special lecture sponsored by NGO (RESCUE)on Awareness of the Ill-

Effects of Technology was organized by NSS and Red Cross wing in association with

IQAC. Prof.Balakrishna Hegde, Prof.Basavaraj, Prof. Raviraj were present on the

occasion. NSS volunteers, Red cross volunteers and majority of the Under graduate

students benefited from this Programme.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

On June 15,2015 Orientation Programme was conducted for the first year

undergraduate students in association with IQAC. Dr. Gananatha Shetty was the

resource person. Dr. Nikethana, Prof.Manjunath, Dr. Mahesh Kumar, Prof Umesh Pai

were present on the occasion.

P.G.ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

P.G. Orientation Programme was held on August 4th, 2015. Prof.P.L. L Dharma was the

resource person who addressed the students on various academic issues. Dr. Nikethana,

Dr. Duggappa Kajekar, Dr. Venkatesh, Dr. Gopalkrishna Gaonker, T G Bhat and Umesh

Pai were present on the occasion.

PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION MEETING

The annual get together of parents and teachers was held on 5-4-2016. Mangalore

University Syndicate Member Sri. Mohan Nambiar was the resource person who spoke

circumstantial words which fascinated the gathering. Dr. Nikethana, Mahesh Rao and

other office bearers of the PTA were present on the occasion.

MANGALORE UNIVERSITY INTER-COLLEGIATE POWER LIFTING COMPETITION

On February 8th and 9th ,2016, Mangalore University Inter-Collegiate Power Lifting

Competition was organized by Department of Physical Education in Association of IQAC

of our college. Sri Muniyal Uday Shetty inaugurated the tournament. Principal Prof.

Balakrishna Hegde, Kokkarne Balakrishna Hegde, Roshan Kumar Shetty and

Ramachandra Patker and others were present on the occasion.

INAGURATION OF RUSA SPONSORED JNANA SANGAMA PROJECT

RUSA Sponsored Gnanasangama ICT classes were inaugurated by the honorable

Minister Pramod Madhwaraj on 19/12/2016. Sri Narasimha Murthy, Prakhyat Shetty,

Dr. Gopalkrishna Gaonker and Principal Balakrishna Hegde were present on the

occasion.

A meeting was held in the Principal chamber to decide about the utilization of Rs. 10,000

granted for IQAC. The following resolutions were taken.

1. Submission of AQAR 2014-15.

2. Review of evaluation of teachers and other activities.

3. To improve the academic quality Rs 10,000 was sanctioned as per order

no:DCE/413/NaacABhi/2015-16/ACADEMIC, Bangalore dated 23-09-2015.It was decided to be

utilized for the following activities:

i) A workshop on teaching practices and research methodology to be conducted for all the

lecturers of the college.

ii) Organizing quiz competition to improve students’ general knowledge.

iii) Special seminar regarding employability skills to be conducted by placement cell.

iv) To conduct training for non-teaching staff regarding office work.

v) Purchase of two ink cartridges.

vi) A meeting to be held to involve the parents as well as old students in the development of

the college.

PROGRAMME ON UNION BUDGET

A SPECIAL LECTURE PROGRAMME INSIGHT ON GST

A special lecture was organized on “GST” jointly by the Commerce Association and IQAC

on 23-03-2017. Prof.Nagaraja U. Assistant Professor of Commerce Laxmi Bangera G.F.G

College, Kota Padukere spoke about the taxation system currently followed in India and

the benefits of GST. The occasion was witnessed by our Principal Prof. Balakrishna

Hegde, Mahesh Rao, Dr, Gopalkrishna Gaonker, T G Bhat, Umesh Pai and Mavy Miranda

and others.

A SPECIAL PROGRAMME ON BUILDING UP LEADERSHIP

A special lecture was organized jointly by the Commerce Association and IQAC on

“Leadership Development “on 28-03-2017. Dr. Sureshramana Maiya conducted

activities and highlighted the importance of leadership quality among students. Principal

Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Mahesh Rao, Dr. Gopalkrishna Gaonker, Umesh Pai and Mavy

Miranda were present on the occasion.

A SPECIAL LECTURE PROGRAMME ON COMMUNICATION SKILLS

A special lecture was organized jointly by the Commerce Association and IQAC on

“Nonverbal communication” on 30-03-2017. Mrs. Geetha, Associate Professor

Bhandarkar’s College Kundapur highlighted the importance of nonverbal

communication in the corporate world. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Dr.

MANGALORE UNIVERSITY INTER-COLLEGIATE HAND-BALL TOURNAMENT

Mangalore University Inter-collegiate Hand-Ball tournament was conducted on

10/03/2017. The Tournament was inaugurated Sri Pramod Madhwaraj District In charge

Minister Udupi. On this occasion Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Mairmadi Sudhakar

Shetty, Prakhyat Shetty and Ramachandra Patker were present. Alva’s college,

Moodbidri won the championship.

N S S DAY CELEBRATION

On 24/09/2016 NSS Day was celebrated association with IQAC. On this occasion Dr.

Jayaram Shettigar Associate Professor of History Milagres College, Kallianpur was the

resource person, who spoke about the benefits of NSS to the students. Principal Prof.

On Feb 8th,2017 Annual sports day was conducted. Malpe Police Inspector was

INAUGURATION OF STUDENT WELFARE COUNCIL AND TALENTS DAY

Students Union and Talents day inauguration was held on September 16th,2016. The

Programme was inaugurated by Sri. Pramod Madhwaraj, District in charge Minister of

A special lecture was organized in memory of Swami Vivekananda’s 154th birthday in

association with IQAC. Mahesh Rao, Dr. Suresh Rai and Umesh Pai were present on the

occasion.

TIRANGA MARCH

“Tiranga March” a special program was organized in honour of our National Flag was on

22/08/2016. The NSS Students, Youth Red Cross Volunteers and other students were

actively participated in the Programme. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Mahesh Rao,

PROCEEDINGS OF THE IQAC MEETING HELD ON 13/03/2017

The following resolutions were taken:

1. Teachers evaluation by students will be conducted before 31st March,2017.

2. The preparation of SSR for the next cycle of NAAC should be started from April 2017.

3. Every teacher is instructed to take care of some students of different sections as mentors.

4. All stakeholders are requested to involve in quality enhancement of the college.

5. Internal exam of P.G and U.G should be conducted as per the norms of Mangalore University

and keep the records of internal marks and final year results in the department.

6. The committee has decided to prepare AQAR of 2016-17 as per new guidelines and submit

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

2017-2018

In pursuance of the National Action plan of NAAC for performance evaluation, assessment,

accreditation and quality up gradation of institutions of higher education, the IQAC was

established in the year 2006. As per the spirit of NAAC guidelines the IQAC has been striving for

internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement. It is working as a facilitative and

participative voluntary system of the college. The IQAC has set itself the objectives shown

below:

PLAN OF ACTION 2017-18

The agenda of PoA has been discussed in the first meeting of the IQAC on 5th July, 2017. It was

decided that each department should prepare PoA of their departments and submit it to the

IQAC. It was also decided to prepare PoA of IQAC and present before the faculty, staff and

students. It was resolved to invite suggestions modifications and additions about the content

of PoA. So that they can be incorporated before finalizing it in the next IQAC meeting.

The activities of the IQAC in the academic year 2017-18 would be broadly based on this PoA.

However, the IQAC can decide to modify it suitably when needed. The plan is based on the

goals to be achieved by the college and founding objectives of the college.

DEPARTMENTS ARE HERE BY REQUESTED TO DISCUSS THE PoA among their faculty members

and students. They are requested to submit their suggestions to the IQAC Co-ordinator latest

by 20th July 2017.

DETAILS:

1. Steps should be taken to increase the student enrollment.

2. The faculty should be encouraged to participate in the workshops for revising syllabus

and BOS meetings of the University to suggest innovative practices in curriculum design

and transaction.

3. Students should be encouraged to appear in career related or higher studies related

examinations like NET/SET/KAS/IAS etc and a database of the students appearing in

these examinations and succeed thereafter should be maintained in the departments.

4. For faculty development seminars should be organized by various departments. At least

two-three seminars may be organized in the college this academic year 2017-18 in

various subjects. General seminars for improving communications skill, etc, should be

either organized, or the teachers may be encouraged to participate in such programmes

at various institutions.

5. A Seminar on quality parameters should be organized in the college.

6. Various clubs/units in the college should be graded on parameters decided by the staff

council. The faculties/Clubs/Units like Administrative services, IQAC, departments and

faculty, library and various programmes in the college NSS, Scouts and Guides, EDUSAT,

RED CROSS etc., are come under this gradation

7. Teachers should be kept informed and should be encouraged to undertake research

projects on behalf of various governmental/non-governmental agencies. Collaborations

for such projects with other institutes should be promoted. Those teachers without

doctoral degree should be encouraged to pursue doctoral programmes in their subject

of teaching. Awareness about citation index, impact factor and other research quality

indicators should be promoted among teachers.

8. Student and faculty should be encouraged to use online research resources like

INFLIBNET, JSTOR etc, to the maximum possible extent. The usage of these should be

qualified with help of statistical data available with these sources by the respective

coordinators.

9. Remedial classes for wreaker sections/students should be started. Coaching for

competitive examinations like UGC – CSIR NET, KAS, IAS examinations etc, should be

started utilizing existing faculty, former faculty members and Alumni.

10. Attendance of the students monitored in a systematic manner. Periodical information

regarding this matter should be given to the students.

11. Community services should be promoted mainly through NSS, RED CROSS and ROVERS

and RANGERS in the college. The following should be considered for providing services

to the community by various departments.

a) Health camps and health awareness programmes.

b) Identify nearby places of historical programmes (History).

c) Provide an overview of how to deposit the money safely in share market or in other

schemes of similar nature on new schemes of the Government like insurance

schemes, pension schemes, health protection schemes etc (Commerce)

d) How to improve communication skills. (Languages)

e) How to use technology and mathematics in real life, training in basic mathematics

for plus to students and career opportunities for plus two students in Mathematics

(Mathematics).

f) Spread energy awareness and promote use of renewal energy resources, study

radiation level in the locality. (Physics)

g) Conduct survey on diseases within certain age groups in the locality. (Statistics).

12. Library infrastructure should be empowered. Introducing online facility for students to

access the library data base should be thought off. New books and journals should be

purchased and the list of such newly acquired ones should be published. Reading room

for the library should be setup and internet facility should be provided in this room.

13. The existing mechanism for collecting the feed book of students be continued. If

possible, mid semester feedback of students also may be collected. The infrastructure

and non-teaching staff also should be brought under the feedback scanner. Actions

taken on feed back by departments or various sections should be consolidated.

14. In the feedback form for the outgoing students questions like, whether they will advice

their friends to join the college for the course they have undergone should be included.

Their suggestion also should be asked and constructive criticism/suggestions should be

made public in their website, with the comments of the administration. Feedback of

students on courses should be forwarded to the University.

15. Information regarding the availability of various scholarships should be given to all the

students.

16. Activities of various clubs/cells in the college should be planned in advance in

consultation with IQAC. Committees should be set up to suggest changes to the working

of existing clubs/units/bodies/practices in consultation with the administration. The

details about the objectives of each and every club should be made available in the

website.

17. INCREASE OF INFRASTRUCTURAL BODIES :

a) Full UPS support and internet access to be provided to all departments.

b) Sporting facilities to be enhanced.

c) The facilities in the canteen should be improved.

18. USING TECHNOLOGY IN COMMUNICATION :

Faculty and students should be encouraged to use e-mail communication system more

effectively. Training should be given to students/staff using their own faculty/external

experts on how to use cloud computing, google services, online resources, e-mail

communication etc, more effectively.

19. Training to teachers, non-teaching staff and students computer training sessions to be

conducted for all the college fraternity to make them use technology more effectively.

20. Administrative staff should be encouraged to participate in training programmes to

enhance their capabilities.

21. Alumni Associations and Parents-Teachers Association should be asked to sponsor,

promote various activities of the college.

22. Health services should be made available to students in the college. Health awareness

camps and medical checkup camps should be organized.

23. Students to be encouraged to participate in various academic/sports/ cultural events.

24. Full pledged Career Guidance Cell and Human Resource Department should be setup.

An external expert should be made as patron of these bodies. Two or three interactive

sessions should be conducted in this year through these bodies for the benefit of

students.

25. Placement drive should be conducted in January or February for the students.

Placement cell and Career Guidance Cell should be entrusted for this task.

26. To give wide publicity to anti-ragging laws and activities of Student Grievance Cell.

Especially, mechanism to redress the student complaints regarding internal academic

evaluation should be properly explained to the students and necessary documents

should be placed in the college website.

27. INNOVATIVE PRACTICES :

a) Energy generation through solar projects should be thought of

b) Departmental student forums should be formed in every course offering

department. Leased by these forums, workshops for other college students should

be conducted utilizing the facility of the same college/nearby colleges promoting

inter college collaborations.

c) CBSS guidelines should be explained to fresh students. A seminar should be

organized for this every year just after sufficient number of admissions is over.

d) Bridge courses should be conducted for first year students by all the major

departments.

e) An online discussion forum should be started which is to be moderated by a student

advisor who should be a faculty member.

f) Classes to be given to final year students on project work.

IQAC being a monitoring body for all the quality related activities in the college, reports of all

the activities coming under the above mentioned plans and anything else related to quality

should be filed with IQAC by the respective in-charge officers. The reports appearing in the

media about these activities also should be filed with the IQAC.

WORKSHOP ON ROAD SAFETY

A Programme on Road Safety was organized on 25-09-2017 by the Dept. of MSW IN

association with IQAC and Rashtriya Self-help Training Centre Ambalpady. The

The Old Students Association meeting was held on 8/10/17. Dr.Suresh Rai, Prof. Mahesh

Rao, Dr. Duggappa Kajekar and Prof. Pasad Rao addressed the gathering.

Prof.Balakrishna Hegde presided over the function. Old students of both UG and PG

departments attended the meeting. Coordinators Prof.Ramachandra Patkar, Physical

Director and Dr. Duggappa Kajekar organized the program. The office bearers for the

year were Vishak president, Ganesh Nayak(MSW) secretary and Dayanand the

treasurer.

PLACEMENT CELL PROGRAMME

On 10th August,2017 a special Programme was organized jointly by the Placement Cell,

Rotary Club, Udupi, Commerce Association and IQAC on Importance of Preparation for

Competitive Exams in the A.V hall. The resource persons K.S. Tantry, Rotaract Chairman,

Arun Gundmi of Prime Institution, Udupi explained to the undergraduate students about

the various employment opportunities available after cracking these exams. Ranjan

Shenoy, IFS gave an inspiring talk to the students and motivated them to appear for the

civil service exams.

WORKSHOP ON AWARENESS OF RIGHTS OF LABOURERS

On 9th October,2017 Dept. Of Social Work, IQAC and Labour Department, Govt.of

Karnataka jointly organized a workshop on awareness of rights of laborers. Circle

Inspector of Labour Department Mr. Jeevan Kumar was the resource person. He spoke

about the implementation of various labour laws dealing with wages, working

conditions and welfare measures. Prof.Balakrishna Hegde presided over the function.

Dr. Duggappa Kajekar the co-ordinator of MSW department and Prof.Raghava Naik the

co-ordinator of MA(Sociology) department were present on the occasion.

THE ROVERS RANGERS WING

The Rovers Rangers Wing was inaugurated on 07-09-2017. Prof.Balakrishna Hegde

presided over the function. Prof.Udaya Shetty and Prof.Ramachandra Patker organized

the Programme. Nithin Scout Leader of Udupi district inaugurated the wing. The

Programme was organized in association with IQAC.

SPECIAL LECTURE BY THE DEPT. OF SOCIOLOGY

The dept. of Sociology in association with IQAC organized a special lecture Programme

on 19-09-2017. Dr. Jayashree addressed the students of sociology and social work on

research methodology. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Dr. Duggappa Kajekar and

Raghava Naik were present on the occasion.

INAGAURATION OF STUDENT UNION

Students Union for the year 2017-18 was inaugurated on 06-09-2017 by the District in

charge Minister of Udupi Sri Pramod Madhwaraj. Prof.P.L. L Dharma, Dept. of Political

Science Mangalore University was the chief guest on the occasion. Principal Prof.

Balakrishna Hegde, Sri Amrutha Shenoy, Sri. Jaya Kumar, Raghav Naik, Raviraj, Dr.

Venkatesh, Udaya Shetty and all the student representatives present on the occasion.

INAUGURATION OF ANNUAL TALENTS DAY AND CULTURAL PROGRAMME.

Inauguration of annual talents day and cultural program was held on 7/9/17. Popular

stage artist Shri Premanada inaugurated the event. He encouraged students to come up

with their talents. Sri Mohana Kadamba, Hiriyadaka and Smt.Rajashri Prasanna, Udupi

were the chief guests. Prof.Balakrishna Hegde presided over the function. The cultural

program co-ordinators Prof.Udaya Shetty and Dr. Venkatesh H.K. organized the

program. Ms. Shamitha of II MA(English) compered the program.Mr. Jagadish of II M.

Com welcomed and Mr. Manish of III B. Com thanked everyone.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR THE DEGREE STUDENTS

Orientation Programme for the first degree students of 2017-2018 acedemic year was

organized on 19-06-2017 in association with IQAC. Zillah Panchayat Member Sri

Janardan Tonse was the inaugurator of the function. Prof Rajmohan was the resource

person. Principal Prof Balakrishna Hegde, Sri Dayanada Shetty, Mahesh Rao, and Prof

Radhakrishna were present on the occasion.

TRAINING ON NET/K-SET

On 27-10-2017 and 31-10-2017 a training Programme was organized by Alumni

Association of our college in association with IQAC. Prof. Prashant N was the resource

person. Principal Balakrishna Hegde inaugurated the Programme. IQAC coordinator Dr.

Suresh Rai, Dr. Duggappa Kajekar, Thimmanna Bhat, Ganesh Nayak, Ramachandra

THEATRE TRAINING PROGRAMME

A Theatre training Programme was organized by the Dept. of Social Work in association

CELEBRATION OF 125TH BIRTHDAY OF B.R.AMBEDKAR

The 125th birthday of Dr. B R Ambedkar was celebrated by the post graduate

departments of our college in association with IQAC ON 14-04- 2017. Sri. Sripad Bhat

was the resource person. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, All the Heads of the PG

Departments were present on the occasion.

PROGRAMME FOR CREATING AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND FIRST AID

The NSS and Youth Red Cross and IQAC of our college organized a Programme on drug

abuse and its repercussions. The Treasurer of Indian Red Cross Organization Udupi Sri

Ramachandra Kamath was the resource person. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde

presided over the function. NSS officers Raviraj, Manjunath and Youth Red Cross Officer

Basavaraj were on the Dias.

NSS ANNUAL SPECIAL CAMP INAUGURATION AND VALIDICTORY FUNCTION

The annual special camp for the year 2016-17 of our NSS unit was held between 5- 11-

2016 to 11-11-2016 at primary school Gundi bail. Udupi Counselor Sri Ramesh Kumar

inaugurated the camp. Dr. Suresh Rai delivered valedictory address. Principal

Balakrishna Hegde was presided over the function. NSS officers Raviraj and Dr. Mahesh

Kumar organized the camp.

NSS ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

The NSS of our college held Orientation Programme for NSS volunteers on 5-8-2017 in

association with IQAC. Dr. Duggappa Kajekar was the resource person. Principal Prof.

Balakrishna Hegde, IQAC coordinator Dr Suresh Rai ,Raviraj and Manjunath were

present on the Dias.

A SPECIAL LECTURE ON RASHTRIYA YUVA SAPTHAHA

Rashtriya Yuva Sapthaha was celebrated on 13-01-2017 in association with IQAC. Dr.

Ramadas Prabhu spoke on Swami Vivekananda. Dr. Suresh Rai, Mahesh Rao and Umesh

Pai were present on the occasion.

PARENT-TEACHER INTERFACE

On 27-01-2017 the PTA organized a meeting with parents in association with IQAC. Dr.

Virupaksha Devaramane was the resource person on the occasion. Principal Prof.

Balakrishna Hegde, Mahesh Rao and Prasad Rao and all the staff members were present

on the occasion.

WORLD ANTI DRUG DAY CELEBRATION

World anti-drug day was celebrated on 24-06-2017 by NSS, Youth Red Cross in

association with IQAC. Dr. Nagaraj Murthy was the resource person who spoke on drug

World woman’s day celebrated in association with IQAC on 8-03-2017. Dr. Rajalaxmi of

Goretti Hospital Udupi was the resource person. She spoke on woman; her mental and

physical health. Prof. Mahesh Rao presided over the Programme. Dr. Duggappa Kajekar,

Dr. Nikethana and others were present on the occasion.
