The Scout-Guide movement is a voluntary, educational movement for the young people,open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed. The purpose of movement is to contributeto the development of young people. As a ScouUGuide, the young boys I girls may undertakelots of activities relating to Community Development, Social Service, Adventure Activities,Environmental Conservation, Vocational Skills, National Integration, Spirit of Patriotism,Brotherhood, Loyalty, Discipline, Leadership qualities. These activities enable a young personin making them a responsible citizen.

Therefore, it has been decided to promote Scout & Guide activities in the schoolsthrough Delhi state Bharat Scouts & Guides and Hindustan Scouts & Guides, Delhi State.

The Scouts & Guides activities will be promoted by these organizations in the schools ofthis Directorate in the following similar manner as conducted in the last academic year 2015-16:

Delhi State Bharat Scouts and Guides will be organ'izing following activities from April2016 to March - 2017 for Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, Guides, Cub Masters, Flock Leaders, ScoutMasters, Guide Captains. The purpose of the movement is to contribute to the development ofyoung people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials asindividuals, as responsible citizens and as members of the local, national and internationalcommunities. The Scouts/guide method is a system of progressive self-education through: APromise and Law, Learning by doing. Membership of small groups under adult leadershipinvolving progressive discovery and acceptance of responsibility and training towards self-government directed towards the development of character and the acquisition ofcompetence, self reliance, dependability and capacities both to co-operate and lead.Progressive and stimulating programmes of various activities based on the interest of theparticipants including games, useful skill and services to the community taking place largelyin an outdoor setting in contact with nature. The Organization is devoted to impart valuebased training to help the people to built a better self based and developed country and toinculcate the spirit of patriotism through Scout-Guide skills.
