Cross Curricular

At the start of our topic 'Time Travellers' you've all pooled together so many wonderful ideas and questions that you would like to explore linked to our theme on mining. So far this term, you have learnt so much about mining - you've gained first-hand experience of life as a collier when visiting The Big Pit; learnt about mining in Wales whilst visiting The National Waterfront Museum in Swansea; investigated real life primary sources of evidence to piece together evidence and to discover more about the Elba Colliery disaster; displayed creative flare participating in a watercolour and mining workshop at The Glynn Vivian; and explored light and dark through a drama workshop based on our class book 'Town is by the Sea.'

Your next challenge is to use knowledge gathered over the past few weeks to choose at least two of your remaining activity ideas from the 'Time Travellers challenge grid' to complete each week.

Try out the following ideas:

Will you choose to write a poem based around the theme of mining; perform a dance to portray the different jobs people had working in the mine; or create a job advert for a collier and/or haulier? Be creative and have fun! Pob lwc!
